One does not have to be a diva-if I can sing like her I'd be in heaven! Cheryl has her own unique voice that is calming to listen to. Actually prefers listening to her than other screaming divas.

We should not forgot that it was a popstar.. And the songs there were not a diva songs.. It's a pop song. Surely she can't belt high notes bec. It is not diva singing contest. The tiltle really suits for her voice.

I wonder if Cheryl ever listens back to her voice when she was on Popstars the Rivals? Her voice was awful and only got through on her looks. She is still beautiful and no one can take that away from her. She used to be feisty back in the day but she probably matured. I do like Cheryl a lot though and she has probably had loads of vocal training to the point she can control her voice better now. Love how she got on stage with that lad bless her.

Bloody Hell... she really can’t sing live.... if she where auditioning for the X factor now... she would not get past the first round... the standards were a lot lower back then...she got in the band because she is Cheeky and pretty. How can she be judging singers on the X factor.

The X Factor isn't about the singing. That's why I think The Voice was a great idea to get back to the singing talent. If the X Factor was all about the singing One Direction wouldn't have careers because they were dreadful on the show. Jedward knocked out Lucie Jones in a 'sing off' which mostly involved them jumping about and there been several 'joke' acts over the years picked for entertainment value. Cheryl is fully aware that she didn't sing a note in tune on Popstars. She admitted it on the first episode of X Factor she was one but she still managed to spot 2 winners in her first 2 years. The public vote for people they like, and as you said she was cheeky, she was also quite funny on Popstars and knew she wasn't the best singer so didn't behave like she was, she just enjoyed herself and took a chance which paid off. Sorry that turned into a bit of a rant, clearly I'm over-thinking this pointless celebrity stuff.

She may not have been the best Singer but she had that "Thing" that drew people to her. Remember when Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice) came to her House and told her how Pretty she was and stuff but never did she say she had a good voice. I said this on another Channel but I feel that Geri saw herself in Cheryl when she was starting out. It blew me away to know that over the years so many Boy Band/Girl Group Icons grew up in Low Income Housing/Council Houses/Ghettos.

When The Lady Sang "Underneath Your Clothes" By Shakira I wonder if Cheryl was thinking of Nicola. I think that people love Cheryl because hers was a Rags to Riches Story. Growing up in the US Equivalent of A Ghetto, hanging bad with Kids, dropping out of School, Waiting Tables, auditions for a TV Talent Show, becomes part of The most successful Reality Group in UK History. Only Diana Ross's Life could parallel hers.

Looking back, I sometimes wonder if those guys knew how much their lives would change back in 2002. I thought it was so cool that they supported Cheryl when she worked with Will I Am. I now remember the "First" Time I saw Cheryl. There was a guy named Terrell Owens I think his name was who serenaded her with "Ribbon In The Sky" by Stevie Wonder when she was a Judge on The X Factor USA. At last Reort, Terrell was still singing in Atlanta, GA. for a lot of Gay Parties since Atlanta, GA., is a very popular State for African American Gay Men.
