Murphy eas very funny 'turn' 'turn' because he 'old school'... that's why he was loved...and he was no where near the finished article hear....if you wont to see that watch him, when he was 'Roper' the impotent 'traffic warden', isn't that comical...driving instructor..to..traffic warden The finished article ...he specialality was like watching those cartoons where the legs are running, but the character is standing still...the double-take look, the hesitation in word and bodily function nobody did it better, it came from a different era, he was born to late, he should been sharing scenes with the silent movie stars, like laurel&Hardy.

The missing episodes are: Fools Rush In God Save Our Dairy Things That Go Bump In The Night If The Cap Fits Go on, try your hardest to find them. They still exist in the ITV Studios library but still on tape. Only one episode has been digitalised. I'm not sure which episode it is. There's also a pilot episode recorded in 1983 that was never broadcast. This also still exists in the archives. It's called "Lotta Bottle". We need a company like DVD/Blu-ray distributor like Via Vision Entertainment (VVE) in Australia to make a good box set with "Lotta Bottle" as a bonus and booklet with an essay and episode guide in it, and with... subtitles. I say that as we need them in our house 24/7 nearly. I can't remember the last time watching Coronation Street without them on. It doesn't bother me though. They had subtitles with "Bottle Boys" originally as it comes up at the beginning telling you how to get them. Funnily enough, 888 wasn't the Oracle number for them then. Somebody else must've uploaded those four missing episodes somewhere, from an off-air recording like the other ones. If you find any of them let me know here ASAP. 😉

One of the best programmes we've ever had. This was groundbreaking in the way that it was probably the first British sitcom to walk the line between comedy and drama, something which had never been seen before at the time. I think Harry H Corbett and Wilfrid Brambell would've been thrilled to think that Steptoe is still popular to this day and it's amazing that it's come back to terrestrial television. Thank you all for so much pleasure ❤ 😊

This is a very underated comedy series. Its never been released commercially. It was repeated once on (the now closed down) Forces TV in 2022 with a juddery picture. A bit like how That's TV and That's TV 2 are now. This recording is the original from ITV. Does Mk5Dubster have Series 2 and 3 as well recorded from ITV like this to upload? I'll pay for a copy of Series 1, 2 & 3 from ITV if you have them. I bought them on a bootleg recently from RareTVandFilm but they were from Forces TV so the picture was juddery again. Like I said It's is a very underated comedy series. Its never been released commercially. It was repeated once on Forces TV in 2022 with a juddery picture. A bit like how That's TV and That's TV 2 are now. This recording is the original from ITV. With Forces TV I had to switch it up to 60fps to help stop it. It did help but it was still there. Do you have Series 2 & 3 from ITV to upload?

Yes, I know it’s fiction, BUT… Consider this; Going down the pub when you’ve just left your child under the stairs alone during the bombings. Only when you actually contemplate that do you realise what an awful father Albert was to Harold. It’s a miracle Harold can actually form sentences. Thank god for his number 9 bus. The only company he had. 😢

Not terrible, not especially funny...had Richard lived it would not be considered a career highlight (Note the "Porridge" sequel "Going Straight" was not the mega flop most think it was BAFTA nominated and may have gone to a second season had RB lived)🎩
