Really glad you interviewed the foreign riders. It gets the sport and the channel more support so hopefully more racers give it a chance. Hope Oliver Brindley is recovering.

i've been looking for this race forever. i knew someone had to have it recorded. Thanks again for the upload Scotty. i was on the 88 behind Shayna in the 250Am, and the poor bastard who stalled on the line in the OpenAm... forgot that happened 😅
I have to agree that running both on Friday is the best option. Good decision given how the weather can vary.

I would think riding a Hooligan on such a small track wouldn't be much fun. Seems like a lot of weight to try and get it to turn.

Man I miss being able to start off the race season going there. There were so many good races in a row like there, St. Augustine, Jacksonville, Palatka, the stadium and of course Volusia County. When the hotels got too expensive I slept in my van and even got kicked out of the parking lot of the motorcycle mechanics school once. Still, good times, great turnouts and cooking hot dogs on the dash in the sun and burgers on the manifold of my van while driving.

There are people out there that complained about the Sturgis TT was mostly asphalt and not dirt as flat track should be. But I bet if AFT announced a large indoor concrete event everyone would be excited.
@jettaylor1286Ай бұрын
I have often wondered why there is not a winter indoor series if for no other reason than it removes weather as a track issue.

always good racing at Timonium. to piggyback on the youth rider turnout, it really is a shame that it's so low. there was no 80 class and when there is, it's 2-3 riders. i always felt like the 60/80 years were the most important and fun years on the track and these kids now aren't getting the full experience.

There was actually a AMA Grand National race for a few years in the late 70's at the Cow palace in San Francisco - concrete track and all. The Cow Palace track was larger than this, but it was still a *short* track. I saw King Kenny win one night on a Yammie 360. Good times. :-)
@FlatTrackFlashback2 ай бұрын
@@stevehageman6785 I've seen some videos of that place and it looked sick. Indoor short tracks aren't everyone's cup of tea but I still enjoy going up to Timonium. And the track in Salem, Oregon looks awesome!

In the late 70's in Northern Calif. We had indoor 'Cement' short tracks in the winter. To get the tires 'sticky', people would spray 'Engine Start' on them, the whole place smelled of Either. Looking back I am surprised that the whole place didn't just blow up one night! Ha, ha, ha, ha.....

Itt's sad ATF hasn't' put together a schedule. That's a bad sign. I've been watching the decline of racing for years. Cost and viewership makes sponsorship opportunity scarce. I hope they can continue because it's always a great show.
