Gee........You need more djondjon than this gurl......next time, boil black beans and use the black beans water and add it with the djondjon water so you can have a nice beautiful black rice. Your rice does not look like djondjon rice. OH...You are from the south of Haiti, that is why you put coconut milk on every damn thing you people cook.

I never knew overcooked beans can make rice soggy.

Perhaps mushy was a better term. Overcooked beans is very soft and mushy. Not a good combination for rice and beans , but perfect for beans puree ( sauce pwa). Common knowledge in Haitian cuisine
