Nice bro I'm looking for a good octave mandolin it's hard to find used now maybe a Weber or a horav bouzouki tuned GDAD I play mandolin now at GDAE now great tune keep on playing

Thanks Robin. I'm mainly a bluegrass player (mandolin) so down/up/down/up is sown into my dna :) Learning the melodies is no issue but it falls down a bit when I go to back myself on tenor guitar. These exercises are a good start to try and hack my brain and muscle memory.

Hi David, Great lesson, but could I ask, what advantage does using the capo give? I originally learnt this tune on a banjo - GDAE in open position, but noticed you capo on the 2nd fret.

@@peterreynolds558 seeing as we are playing in D fingering, placing the capo on the second fret puts the tune into the key of E, which Morrison’s is usually played in. Capo on the 2nd fret also makes some of the stretches with the little finger slightly more forgiving!
