I’m gonna put a thought in your head. You ever think about how after Cas put a sigil on Dean and Sam, so no angel could find them, he was never able to find them either unless given their precise location? And about how humans can pray to angels, but angels aren’t able to reply or “pray back”, and after they lost their wings, angels can’t just instantaneously appear to the person? …..And then you ever think about that episode where Dean and Sam are trapped in a government facility in tiny cells slowly losing their minds and it was so awful that they literally made a deal with a reaper in which one of them would die just to get out of there? And THEN you ever think about how Dean, with absolutely no human contact for months, probably prayed to Cas, a LOT? He had no useful information about where he was being held, there was no way for Cas to ‘trace the call’, and he couldn’t even reply. But Cas always always always hears when he’s being prayed to. He probably prayed more frequently, almost like a journal entry, just to feel like he was talking to someone, as he slowly went insane. And then you think about the one scene where Cas is just sitting in the bunker with the lights off, not even answering his phone. And when he mentions how awful those months were for him but never really says anything specific. Sometimes I think about that.

And the true tragedy of this story, is the fucking writers thinking killing Cas off for a final time and shredding another giant chunk of Deans soul, is preferable than a gay Dean (or a Dean Winchester in a loving relationship with another man). I've literally mourned this whole thing, and am still mourning it, as if someone I loved in my life died. While this is a TV show with fictional characters, I've grown up watching this show, and this right here, is a very *real* hurt.
