Interesting take! Your thematic reorganisation made sense… are you saying it wasn’t cohesive ? I like the album and there are lots of good tracks on the album , in fact maybe only 1 orc2 tracks are mediocre. I think the problem with people critiquing the album is that they keep on comparing it to his last album…judge it on its own merits. Still early days and I still need to listen to it more… I just keep on going BACK to there are some good tracks on the album that is where I am at!

This argument is valid if it's relative to his previous works but vs the rest of the scene the guy is actually on a different level. Like no one apart from Dave, nines and maybe potter is making this high quality of an album in the Uk. The Uk scene is great at making singles but albums are it's weak point
@RockingSnake99 Жыл бұрын
I love the album but I think it's the weakest of the three, but it's still solid. I think the production is very experimental and good but I feel like there are moments where they might have over done it a little. Like you said most of the songs on the album were previewed 2020-21 so I think it could of partially been that we got used to the same snippets for 3 years I knew I wouldn't think it would the best because of Jae5 not being involved but I think TSB did good. I think like Jae5 said this album is the way it is because Hus is in the mood to be outside again and give the fans what they want an album with bangers for the summer. I feel after this for album 4 he will be ready to touch topics with Jae5 again.

The hype around this album will die down because most of the engagement is based on the fact that Hus finally dropped a body of work after a period of time🤷🏿♀️

I don’t think this album showcased his full potential compared to other albums. I think the album was released because of fan pressure/impatience and was rushed in a sense.

Who Told You was an attempt at a summer song, I don’t think that song is doing justice as a “summer song”. It’s overhyped in my opinion. I think there are a couple of reasons for that. 1. As the audience, we’ve waited a while for him to release music and the excitement that we the audience had made it bigger than what it is (overhyping it) 2. Then you have Drake’s fan base that also gave that song a boost ( I don’t think he was needed on the song) Personally, I think Hus released this song with the mindset of “here’s a song for youse I guess”.

Great review, as an American who has only heard the heavy hitters like Headie and grime OGs like Skep and JME it was nice for this project to be put into context more. I felt like it was the first proper Knucks album that was fully fleshed out so I think it's safeness is excusable and hopefully he expands upon this sound in the future

For me - Loyle's first two albums were great because their slightly unpolished sound made them feel really nostalgic. This album is a lot more polished so you get less of that feeling - but I've still really liked it and I think I'll like it more over time. Speed of Plight is my favourite track so far.

I’ve been involved in Rap since 86 this’s on 🔥 The lyrics are so good it doesn’t matter if there’s no chorus the beat didn’t change I loved the beat which didn’t bother me for 11 minutes actually it was on level. The video was crisp and on another level. I’d love to know who produced this and filmed the video. What I loved it wasn’t sleazy and trashy like modern rappers go straight to the gutter by sexualised videos that effect our children today. His mother at the beginning was nice touch the nice touch with also the iconic Jazzie B from Soul 11 Soul, Trevor Nelson, So Solid Crew and also the pic of Jamal Edwards RIP was a nice touch. Stormzy doesn’t need to respond to the little peckers pecking at his heals like their searching for crumbs coz Stormzy killed em with his success. This isn’t just a lyrical masterpiece it’s also a cultural masterpiece. I predict from the reaction this produced this track is gonna be big .

'GOOD:AM' came out right before The Divine Feminine and is arguably his best "rap" album of all time. OR if you're looking for some more jazz, you gotta check out Mac's alter ego, Larry Lovestein & The Velvet Revival. The album 'You' is on spotify. Cheers
