I really don't get the point in putting a thermostat on a fan (not a heater or an AC unit, but a regular fan) since it doesn't really seem to do anything except cut/deprive the fan of power when the thermostat is set below a certain point like it does with modern fan-forced heaters.
@diyintrovert9614 ай бұрын
Nor do I, nor do I see myself putting a thermostat on any fan project I plan to do.
@samsimington55634 ай бұрын
@@diyintrovert961 Exactly. Putting thermostats on fans is entirely pointless IMO.

The thermostat is there so that, if the ambient air temperature goes down naturally (such as during the night), the fan shuts itself off.
@samsimington55632 ай бұрын
@@kevinking2134 Just like it would if it's set below a certain point with both this fan and fan-forced heaters like I previously mentioned. Glad to finally solve the mystery of its presence on a regular fan and find out it's not actually pointless 😮

I like these Reversibles, because the blades are symmetrical. They can spin clockwise and counterclockwise, and they'll look the same either way, they won't look weird, and you can't tell the difference between the two the way they are made.
@HuskyDog884 ай бұрын
Is there a grille on the back of that thing? There should be. Why not put the fan in an actual window to see it working in its proper environment? It would be easier to film.
@diyintrovert9614 ай бұрын
There is a grille on the back. Eventually I may convert this into a stand-alone fan.
@HuskyDog884 ай бұрын
Dude, I like how you showed the low, medium, and high speeds of the fan both in regular fan mode and in exhaust mode. It would have been better if you put this in an actual window to test it out. It is a window fan, after all. This way you wouldn't have to worry about holding it to keep it from rattling while it's in operation. How come there is no grill on the back? A bird might crash into it and get hurt or killed by the blades and damage the fan while it's on.
@diyintrovert9614 ай бұрын
That's just how Belco built this fan. No need to worry about a bird getting caught or killed by the blades as the window has a screen.
@HuskyDog884 ай бұрын
@@diyintrovert961 Couldn't you install a back grille? It just doesn't look right without it. What was Belco thinking? Good thing today's fans aren't like that.
