What does removing the piece do? It doesn’t change anything
@AndrewLumsdenАй бұрын
Does the app give you the option to turn on at sunset and off at sunrise etc. if the spur was used for security lights? So that it would automatically change according to those variable times.

Not clear at all. Would have been nice to show the actual pipes from the floor or the wall, and how the different valves fit. It was a missed opportunity to enlighten his audience by showing a clear difference between the two when fitted on pipes. He basically showed the same radiator.

Whats the stuff peek you put on the radiator
@johnhunter41813 ай бұрын
No need to do this if you have a curved radiator - just moving the brackets towards to the centre of the radiator will close the gap. Slight lateral adjustments can make a big difference in the gap to the wall.

That's NOT how you bleed the radiator on the first heat-up!!! Bleeding the rack at the end of heating cycle defeats the entire purpose of bleeding it! Your rack didn't burst, because it was a pre-filled rack and the fill ratio is calculated. What if that was an empty rack and a customer filled it by themselves? All it takes is one erroneous calculation... In those cases if the bleeding screw stays open for the entire heat-up duration then the worst thing that can happen is excess fluid can spill out. On the contrary, if it stays closed, then there is a real risk of bursting and depending on the temperature and rack design can have serious consequences! The bleeding screw must remain open for the entire heat-up process and then closed when the rack has fully heated up.

Hi, Thanks for the explanation video! However, can you tell me in which side of the bottom part of the towel radiator I need to install the for example T-valve with the electric element? Do I need to install it on the side where the water is coming IN from the wall (where the central heating regulator is placed) or on the side the water is leaving from the radiator OUT to the wall?
@rubberneck26 ай бұрын
Hello. I was advised by Therma that it is best practice to fit the element on to the return/out flow side of the radiator.
@jonost24 Жыл бұрын
We've had these installed on some Reina vertical rads in a new extension. The rad doesn't get very warm. When feeling the pipes the lockshield valve gets hot first, the trv side doesn't get hot. Am I right in thinking the plumber has got the valves the wrong way round? Is it right these are non bi-directional? Your input would be most useful. Regards, Jon
@elegantradiators Жыл бұрын
I have asked the question to Reina and their reply like this; They are bi-directional, the most likely cause of your problem is that the whole system is not correctly balanced.

Are there any central heating radiators (not dual fuel) that come with theur own thermostat and other temperature controls? Or are they entirely reliant on the central heating system? Thanks!
@elegantradiators2 жыл бұрын
No, we don’t stock this kind of electric towel radiator. There are 2 different type of electric towel radiator. 1- Dry electric 2- Pre-Filled Converted Electric Towel Radiators Dry electric towel rails has heating element wired inside the radiator. You can not change if heating element or controller goes wrong. They come with their own controller, timer and such. Pre-Filled Electric towel radiators are converted central heating radiators actually. Towel rail pre-filled with expansion gap and choice of element can be installed. Heating element heats the filling medium and eventually radiator is heated and radiate into the the room / towels If the heating element goes wrong, you can replace the heating element only. We do stock wall fused spurs with booster - 7/24 hours manual and wifi controlled timers. These timers are great to automate your towel radiator so its warm and ready for you.

Do you not need an insert on the 10mm pipe?
@elegantradiators2 жыл бұрын
No, it is for 15mm pipe. You need reducers if you have microbor pipes that8 or 10mm
@blackb1ade Жыл бұрын
Yes, you definitely do need a liner/insert if it's poly pipe on a compression fitting
@emilyjames16410 ай бұрын
JG (John Guest) recommend NOT using reducer on plastic speedfit pipe (e.g layflat or PEX) or on Compression fittings with a short tube stop depth (like valves) because they have a hard olive which can easily damage the plastic. And inserts always when connecting plastic to ANY fitting regardless of size to retain integrity. I used this video to connect new towel rails using layflat and reducers and learned the hard way that what is shown is a bodge! See page 16 of JG guide www.johnguest.com/sites/jg/files/2022-01/RWC11339_JG-Speedfit-Technical-Specs-Guide_v11.pdf
