They're great instruments I know I replaced the top on this one but they sound and play great especially for how much they cost / what they are. I usually put stringjoy on my guitars including this one.

The thing about baby Taylor's is the convenience of size and portable. Travel guitars aren't known for their tone. I've always just kinda considered mine "good enough" lol. That does sound pretty cool tho. Here's my wee lil baby T 🙂 kzbin.info/www/bejne/o3iumJyXnspmpaMsi=gIsb-GcNRStmLdO6

You are a great player! I've found the baby taylors to be super consistent sounding, I actually bought mine for travel with the removable neck it makes it super easy to fit in a carry on. And thank you - I replaced the top on this one because I could - I'm actually in the middle of doing it again, it lets me rapidly experiment with voicing the top. I do need to get another for comparisons though...

I have prices listed on my website - prices are competitive for the Seattle area, but the cost is basically: new pickups, bridge + install setup. Righteous Sound Pickups + Halon bridge cost as much as the guitar... www.celestialinstruments.com/pages/services-price-list

I really do not understand the bridge swap. IMO the 6 saddle works so much better from a players perspective. The ashtray style always messes with my hand position, but it definitely is more traditional.
@RickMolloyАй бұрын
@@GavMcC7 it's not the intonation which frankly is fine on a compensated tele bridge. The stock fender dual saddles are made with much looser tolerances so they vibrate and rattle very minutely and this has an impact on sustain and tone. The stock 3 saddle bridge isn't any better from that perspective. Probably worth doing a video just on the bridges to compare fender, gotoh and halon
@GavMcC7Ай бұрын
@@RickMolloy I'd definitely watch a shootout video on the main 3 bridge options. The one you installed admittedly looks really beefy/chunky and I dig it. I think with modern compensated saddles intonation issues aren't really a problem anymore. For me the sides of an ashtray style interfere with my right hand position (I do a lot of palm muting), and the modern 6 saddle makes set-up a breeze. I'd like to see a 6 saddle with a big chunky milled steel plate, similar to the on you installed. Do the raised sides of an ashtray style not interfere with your picking hand ever?
