72 350 base model.. Rear glass out now for me repairing rear glass ledges and that panel aft outside rear glass to the top seal area of the trunk seal.. I'm wrkg it out.. Your Vids are professional. I'm novice.. Then have a 69 cougar to put back together.. Then done at 71..lol Thanks again.. I've subscribed

Jared..1972 monte.. My speaker deck portion is good. I just removed the panel between fed trunk seal area and glass seating area. When I cut panel out .its not part of the fwd speKer tray portion. I bought a repair kit from I believe company called Rust repair..comes complete rear glass lege replacements and that glass bottom ledge panel.. Anyway..my 1st time in this type repair.. My question..lol The panel i have to go in gets inserted into the top trunk seal channel and fits to the side angles on ea side of trunk covered areas and goes fed over the hump between the trunk springs.. All seems to be right..the new panel has a 1 and half inch of metal fwd of the glass bottom ledge . When installed the extra mentioned hovers fwd over the speaker tray area in the whe length of panel. That portion is my crises..lol I know sir winded but im 71 and scratching my head . Havebyou seen this style of panel repair that does not include the speaker tray as well.. Thanks.. Rest of everything else in good shape.. But repairing glass perimeter ledges too tho.. Thanks. Hi..72 monte here.. My tray was good from just ahead of the bottom window ledge so was able to cut at the trunk seal area and side out..and a company called Rust repair sold a left to right length that fits into top trunk seal channel and fed with window seal saddle area I will call it.. Seams to fit ...not finished..still eyeballing it all. When that repayment piece is in..in from of the glass ledge is another inch and half metal fwd which has me not knowing how that wrks with final as in the covering for the tray itself.. My 1st and 1st monte and didn't take the right pics in area in question.. So sorry it's windy.. Steve

Funny I had a 70 Monte Carlo to reseal the rear window and it had butyle rubber installing the glass from the factory. And another 70's or 60s model car had butyl rubber strip holding the front windshield and then from the factory.
