Marathon is always on the ohio

my step dad was on this boat for 16 years. he’s a tanker man now for the company. i’m gonna be trying and getting on the boat next month. can’t wait

Literally grew up around a bulk plant from before I could walk. Use to help load trucks. Even help unload barges. In grade school and Jr High. There are two bulk plants left on the Kanawaha. That get their gas from Catlitsburg. There was at one time. One at St Albans Charleston and Hugheston on Kanawha. One on Elk River in Charleston. Only ones now are at Hugheston and Charleston. Both still get from barge.

Paducah ky and a lot of places gets their fuel by barge . Been happening for 100 years . Knoxville tn got fuel by barge till they built pipe line in 69 .

Mrathon ships a lot of petroleum products on the ohio . Refineries in West Virginia. Up the Cumberland and tn too.

I see barges hauling oil and gas uo and down the Ohio River all of the time. No strange thing here. You just don't get to the river much.

I use to pump these barges off when in high school. They were M/V Ashland back then 1974.

spent 20 years pushing barges on the rivers its nothing out the ordinary YOU were just not there :)
