Do you know if this works in older versions of Substance? I have the non-subscription version before it got sold to Adobe.

Sadly no, you will need at least Painter Version 9.1.2 build 3332 for it to work

hello. I'm enjoying all your artwork. I have been working in the 3D game background field in Korea for over 10 years. Just like you, I am preparing for a 3D prop and video sales business. If you don't mind, could you give me some advice?

@@3dextrude I would like to know whether I can consistently make decent profits with this business and what I need to do to do so. thank you.

@dabeat1607 You either need an audience or be good at marketing and paid ads. You could organically by just posting on the marketplaces, but that's going to take a very long time. Granted either way it takes a long time to get consistent revenue. If you already have that in place then it's just a matter of selling good content that people want. I can't speak about decent profits because that could mean anything depending on the person, what I would consider decent may not be decent to you and vice versa. Keep in mind I don't do this full time and is not my main source of income.

Hi, i have noticed, that you have very good flow of modeling. Can i ask, how don't you experience a sense of the unknown? Because any program, has very big amount of tools in the it arsenal, and i know, that nobody uses of programs 100% functionality... Second question is - how do you learning new features? What is your base pipeline of learning? And third question, how do you focus your attention on the workflow, and aren't unfocusing? I ask it, because you have very many stylized tutorials, and very good pack of tools for cool stylized pipeline (maya/zbrush/substance etc.).
@3dextrude
@3dextrude 9 күн бұрын
Hi, you are correct I don't know about every single tool or option in a given program because most of the time you just need the basics and re-use the same tools over and over plus a lot of tools in programs can be specific for certain applications, i.e tools for animation, 3d printing, modeling, etc. You only need to know what's needed for what you are looking to accomplish with the program so there's no need to worry about what you don't know. Most programs have a "New" features section when you go download an updated version of the program, that's the easiest way to stay up to date on what's new; most of the time the new features are not useful for most applications is what I find. The workflow comes naturally once you have learned it or a few workflows and at that point you only focus on the results really; keeping in mind the best workflow to achieve said results.

i dont understannd why the difference between o and 1 in your cube looks so deep, for example at the beggining with this octagonal form that makes the Hole in the cube; in your cube the difference is really big, but in my project the difference between o (black) and 1 (white) it results in just som centimeters of depth, how can i change that? i understand that this is related to the intensity of the height right?
@3dextrude
@3dextrude 13 күн бұрын
Yes, but this is also dependent on the settings you have set for the preview in Substance. You can change that under Materials-default-adobestandard-tessellation and change the amount under Height Scale. The settings there are always reset to default when you reopen substance.

I hope you will be preparing your next tutorial in your own voice.

The results themselves are very beautiful, but... Your full videos are not worth a cent, because they are not training, but just videos, without explanation, without logic, etc. Why? You are constantly looking for the right values, you return to them after a few minutes again and again, and so on many, many times. After a while, this already gets boring and you rewind the video. But there I am waiting for the same disappointment: endless returns back, changing values without any explanation. Because of this, your full videos last several hours, although the entire result could have been fit into half an hour maximum. I will explain to you what lessons are and why they are worth paying for. Lessons are a ready-made plan, with an explanation of what a person is doing, why he is doing it, he knows in advance what values to enter and does not run through the entire node scheme an infinite number of times. This is information presented very simply and clearly. I hope you will learn this someday.
