I’m a diehard ATDI and TMV fan but I sorta missed Antemasque till recently, so it’s been awesome finally hearing them in earnest. I think when I first checked it out, it was so not TMV that I didn’t give it a chance, but glad I’ve revisited it!

Only the Chili Peppers can jam the way they do. Nobody else comes close. Sure they have had both John and Josh, but gotta say the latter from 3 minutes on in this jam is quite incredible with the improv, both with solos and riffs. He held down the fort well, and this was one of his earlier shows too. Not too many other bands do jams that sound like this and take people on such a sonic journey. Raw organic stuff like this is what makes the Chili Peppers who they are whether it’s John or Josh, from the jams to the songs that result.

Holy shit! I'm so glad this video was put back up. I was so sad when I went to watch it one day and saw that it had been deleted. This is such a sick show, recorded from a great vantage point, and with higher video and audio quality than the other BR live recordings on youtube

Usually the chatty audience at FJM videos bothers me. That pitchfork audience with the orchestra just kept yelling out memes. Seeing them laugh to the songs when hearing them for the first time really adds to this show, though.

Makes me shriver every time. I live in Lubbock and remember the less then a handful times ATDI played as I grew I moved to Seattle following The Mars Volta and Sparta at the time , early 2000s. Sat for hours for the best seat at Bonnaroo 2006, El paso Tx Mars with A perfect circle 2003. Sorry for the bs , a side of there punk Flea was down with, especially recording the bass himself on the studio recordings and Travis B.? Hes a solid Punk rocker on drums maybe? 🇲🇽
