Someone who is genuinely contrite does not require forgiveness of the people they have harmed. They ask how they can right their wrongs instead. True contrition doesn't make excuses either. I call bs on his claim of poverty as well. One does not need to murder and rape people in order to relieve their poverty. His background in the 28s tells you this is a man who has killed. Of course his community wants him gone. He has caused irreparable harm.
