Shame it went through at that speed, - it was a great sight, but all over in less than 20 seconds !!. Why the rush through Stoke Station, or don't enthusiasts matter ?

Believe me these machines are a revolution for North Wales! Finally we are getting some decent trains that you can hear yourself think on. These are an amazing improvement. Now all we need is for the Government to deliver long promised Electrification of the North Wales Coast network so we can run them electric all the way and replace the diesel modules with the new battery module that Hitachi is testing. True trains of the future. AVANTI now you have stock, drivers and new trains give us back our hourly direct services to London Euston.

An interesting video, and alot of knowledgeable observations in the interesting comments , way beyond my ken ( child of the 50s 😮) , but as there were no passengers I presume this was a test run for the Hitachi ( the on board announcement) - also I had been looking forward to going by Caernarfon Castle and crossing Telford's Menai Bridge - ? And Llandudno Junction a great hub of steam engine activity in those far off days . Thank you All.

It was 10 cars to Holyhead, 5 back. Definitely got quite busy, although they've got 46 more standard seats than the voyagers. Apparently, the 807s will have 34 more standard seats than a 9 car 390.

True, its still basically the same thing they've been doing with the voyagers for the past 20 years. I overheard staff on board complaining about ride quality compared to the 221s ("I miss the tilt") but at least they're bi-mode and more spacious.
