You two crack me up! I really enjoyed A Gentleman in Moscow from Amor Towles so i have Lincoln Highway on my list. I really liked the group dynamics and protectiveness in the heaven and earth grocery store.

Heir of Fire is when the story really begins! It's when I fell in love with the series. TOG and COM were just the prologue :)

The way I’m reading Assassin’s Blade right now and thinking I get it because I’m finding it so boring. I even liked Throne of Glass and Crown of midnight better but I have heard Heir of Fire is when the books start really getting good. So I’m suffering through in hopes that it’s true.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@BigSpoonLittleSpoon31210 күн бұрын
I just felt AB didn’t need to be its own 600 page book! It could have easily been sprinkled in where necessary to the first two books 🥴 but it better pick up!!

@ hahaha I feel like it didn’t need to be written at all lol it didn’t add anything to the series so far lol!🤣🤣🤣🤣

I'm definitely with you on the Throne of Glass Series. I'm on book 2 and wondering when it's actually gonna start to pick up and get good.
@kristycarlson10429 күн бұрын
The first 3 books in the series are the LONGEST prologue in history. The story really starts in the last 1/3 of Heir of Fire. If you have it in you, push through. TOG is probably one of my all-time favorite series, but I didn't fall in love with it until Heir of Fire.

Thank you for introducing me to 11/22/63. Has been my favorite read of all time. I’m about 40% through Addie LaRue and it’s been a trudge to get through as of now, hate the flashes back to 1700s but everything in 2014 is great so far. Going to bet on you guys and finish it though

James. Please read Book of Doors. I feel like you would enjoy the thought provoking concept. Cody. Black witch is up your alley. I will say that this should be a audio book because the pronunciation of races and places is wacky.

Every recommendation that James give had been a hit for me. Blindly I add them to my TBR list and I know certainly that is going to be a good one. My top book for 2024 was 11/22/63 and I read it because of James.

Here is my review for Stephen King's book : As I progressed through the book, I couldn't shake the feeling that King had written it with a potential series or movie adaptation in mind. So, I wasn't surprised when I discovered that a series was released five years after the book's publication. While the story had its moments of excitement, it often felt drawn-out and lacked the consistent engagement that would have kept me fully invested. I found myself repeatedly putting the book down and picking it back up, hoping to finally dive into the central plot. Unfortunately, it never came (or it came too late because I gave up on the book 600 pages in). There was no Oswald, no gripping plot to save the President-just a series of side quests and mundane events that stretched on for 400 pages. The book's cover and description are misleading. While the premise suggests the goal is to prevent Oswald from assassinating the president, the true focus is on Jake's journey through the 50s and 60s, as he navigates life in the past and struggles to adapt as a man from the future. I expected Oswald to appear in the early chapters based on the book’s description, but we don’t truly focus on him until after the 400-page mark. Though the journey is often more important than the destination, this book left me feeling underwhelmed. I couldn’t understand why the protagonist made so many detours or why the plot sometimes seemed to stray so far off course. Maybe I approached it expecting something different from King’s usual work-more historical fiction than horror or supernatural. I just don’t see what makes this book a worthwhile read, and it’s made me hesitant to explore more of King’s books. I’m still unsure why the book needed to be so long, or why the story couldn’t have been told in fewer than 500 pages. Although many readers praised King’s take on romance, an area he doesn’t often explore, I found it unremarkable and, at times, cringe-worthy in its descriptions and dialogue. Since this is my first King novel, I’m not sure if this is typical of his style. It's clear that this book is well appreciated and loved, as reflected in the glowing reviews across various social media platforms, with the negative feedback often being overlooked. Reading is a deeply personal experience, and while this book has a strong fanbase, it simply wasn't for me.

Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts 🥰 I’m so sorry you didn’t enjoy it! I definitely could see why people wouldn’t enjoy it; even I struggled with its length and wordiness at times! So I don’t think you’re alone in your review, and like you said, reading is ultimately a subjective experience. And King is certainly not for everyone and that’s okay 🩵

Did you read Spark of the Everflame? Is it just as good as Glow of the Everflame
@BigSpoonLittleSpoon31212 күн бұрын
I did! I liked it a lot; but I think the second book, Glow, is way better! So if the first one doesn’t sell you 100%, I think the second one could bring you back in 🥰
11/22/63.....Totally agree!!! Have you read any Jodi Picoult books? Stephen King is such a fan that Jodie TX in 11/22/63 is named for her (he said he just added the e at the end of the name to make it sound more Texan).
