I have the 8 and it's way way better than what you show here... I'd only be interested in the 12 for better low-light performance.

You say that, but this is the difference using the exact same settings. The 12 is way better point blank. No settings will make the 8 comparable to the 11/12. This camera isn't made for low light, so no point in comparing. Plus I sold my 8, I wanted a removable lens to use ND filters and the max lens mod.

Bro, I have the Hero 8 and it takes much better video than what's in this video. Might want to check to make sure you have the best settings setup. That said, if you're reviewing both cameras straight out of the box, than the 12 look significantly better. Thanks for the video!

The comparison is using the exact same settings, not settings optimized for the camera or light conditions (mostly auto white balance, iso, etc). The 8 is still a decent camera, but obviously less resolution than the 12. Plus the ability to replace the lens is a big upgrade. If you want me to compare them with different settings just let me know

Man I thought it was just me. I have the Sologood EV800D and that same Sologood monitor even with the basic straight antennas. The range is insanely better on the monitor. Not sure why they wouldn't just slap that same monitor/receiver into the goggles.
