Cool video, thanks for the shout out. The MCK does not change brake bias actually. The larger 1" piston actually reduces line pressure for a given pedal pressure over the OEM 7/8" piston. This results in a much firmer pedal that is easier to modulate. Time for a wireless mic :)
@zitroracing13 күн бұрын
Thank you for the correction! I meant more of the BBK kinda throws the Miata bias off with the factory MC. My phone is audio is definitely almost gone! I have my mic I just forgot to hook it up 😭. Can’t wait to upgrade to yours coils! 🙌🏽

Is there much of a chance installing this kit without cutting the radiator core support? I was about to purchase this kit, but I seriously don't want to cut up my car, I believe I'd also have to replace my Mishimoto Radiator. Can I route the piping in around the sides of the radiator?
@zitroracing3 ай бұрын
You do have to notch the radiator core support . However This kit is designed to be installed with minimal modifications and using factory locations. The kit will route the piping above the radiator and still have room. The clearance cut you have to make will not damage the structure of the car. NA/NB Miata’s crash structure come from the frame rails themselves. The TDR radiator is more efficient than mishimoto and definitely stronger. I haven’t had a lot of luck with mishimoto on Miata’s and BMWs. They always seem to crack. Im sure there is a way to route piping but the room available in the engine bay is very very tight.

@@zitroracing Thanks for your input, I’m probably just going to bite the bullet and cut the rad support. I’m sure it will be worth it.

What about the 2nd hole that old tank had?
@zitroracing5 ай бұрын
The original tank has a line coming from the radiator to the reservoir cap going into the reservoir. Then that same reservoir cap has an overflow coming out that goes nowhere.
@stephencoulthard17185 ай бұрын
@@zitroracing original hose from rad is basically l continuous to bottom of the tank, yours is from the bottom, but quite a large hole in side for "overflow" sure something gonna start living in there, would think there was a 90° like sight tube but not to thr bottom? Really the question is any leaks so far???
@zitroracing5 ай бұрын
@@stephencoulthard1718 ahh okay I see. Yes I figured there would be a 90° on that side as well. However I have a hose ran from that straight outlet up toward the cowl because during hard cornering I would actually spill out that port. After I ran the hose I haven’t had that problem. So far I’ve had zero structural problems with it. Only thing I have to say is it does grab heat and hold it more than a plastic one would.

@@zitroracing worth the upgrade for the extra heating?
@zitroracing5 ай бұрын
@@stephencoulthard1718 I think in the long scheme of things it’s worth it. Although it does absorb heat a little more. It’s not enough to be detrimental to the performance.

How does manual brakes feel? Compared to the Miata boosted brakes? I myself have been thinking about it but could use some insight.
@zitroracing9 ай бұрын
Depends what you’re wanting out of your car. For racing I can feel the brakes and what they are doing way easier. Trail braking and initial input are what I want it to be. You can modulated braking in corners easier. If this was a daily car. I’d probably keep the boosted assembly. Not that manual brakes aren’t easy to drive around with. I just prefer boosted brakes on a street car.
