I think you either need better recording equipment, room treatment or both. You can tell the difference between the 2 but they both sounded terrible to me. And it’s not the speakers fault.

I like your jam and style. I'd love to come back when you've sonically treated your room. At least a little. That set up and rig is amazing. It'd sound so much better without all those reflections. Every review is always about the room to some extent. The equipment it's in (50-75%- depending on who ya listen to.) , but let's be fair to space, accoustics, human hearing, and science.) Don't get me wrong, measurements arent the whole show EVER. But rooms are rooms and speakers doing what they do are going to sound different in every space. Please give your speakers the best chance at letting you know what they can do by treating your room. I know I'd rather spend 500$ on a new dac or whatver, but a decent room treatment will make your 5k system sound like a 40k system. (ask me how I know.)
@daryloberg89802 күн бұрын
...and because it's the internet and haters be hating, no, I don't own or collaberate with any room treatment business. But I have, over the years, looked into it. I DIY all my treatments. IT MATTERS MAN!!! I'm telling you. A spare bedroom can be great, like yours. But we, as music lovers, want the best we can get with our money. a good room treatment is worth 10X trying to find a good balance and synergy for THAT room with THOSE speakers (whatever they may be) , in order to see wha works the best. Great tracks BTW. :)

Hard to really tell. Both were good. But the room seemed to make the sound very brittle. Both close and far miking and mixing would help - but then that would interfere with the demonstation.

Sounded similar to me and that's with listening with active speakers. I think the Triangle speakers sitting in front there would be sound much better, having owned the Comete 40th anniversary.

I liked to sound of the Totem much better through KZbin. The vocals on the Morel seem to be forward, more pronounced then "I" like. Also, they did not sound as full/large as the Totem.

Like, what do you hear in the room as it’s so hard to hear through playback? Great options both way but it would help to hear your impressions.

Seems you all carry Triangle speakers. I am trying to see if there is much difference between the Triangles and Bowers & Wilkins. Any opinions on any differences in sound character between these two wonderful speaker companies?
@deanbrandon361520 күн бұрын
Those are so gorgeous. I think if you added a sub for just the lowest frequencies, it would be great. That’s what I do with my B&W 705s.

I wonder how these compare to say, a Bowers & Wilkins 705-S3 signature Datuk gloss. They look similar, but I wonder about performance.

That woofer looks like a Morel. If so it would have punchy articulate bass with smooth, not overly detailed mids. Due to large voice coil. It’s a wide brush, very macro large scale sounding speaker in a compact package, that would be good for filling a large room, where you can turn them up a bit. Provided you have a beefy amp to drive them. They like to be turned up. They don’t come to life until you turn them up!

I have had my Constellation Inspiration Pre amp and mono blocks for over two years and have slowly upgraded speakers, front end and cables - truly great gear and the sound is first class, I would rate my rig against many more expensive systems. Speakers Fact 12, Aurender A10 and all Signature cables. Qobus stream and Flac music on HD -

I think I am unimpressed by constellation audio parts quality as well as build quality. I know they have some new amps where they have made fancy cases but it remains to be seen if the actual amplifier itself is really top shelf or not. They're original amps look like a bad hair day with wires going every which way and dubious parts quality and a fairly crappy case.

I don't really think constellation audio is like a real company more than just a marketing brand and a loose collection of whatever. It doesn't seem to execute an excellent vision in a complete and thorough way.

@@supercompooper - When the company started, the owner had five very well-known amplifier designers to come up with the designs - Peter Madnick, Bascom King, the late James Bongiorno, John Curl, and Demian Martin. It is a real company but began with outside consultants for the designs. They probably do most of their sales in Asia.

There are 2 many variables for analog playback including the pick up , the arm and the deck .. how is one to know it is due to the phono stage unless there is an A/B testing ? So this sounds more like a promotional video for Constellation’s pricey phonostage..
