Great video. There is no shame with a 196. For what you paid for the Ducar, Flywheel, and carb I could have a more powerful 196 than your current Ducar. And I assume it just has a carb and header pipe. The Ducar would only have a bit more torque. But 0-45 my Coleman with a built 196 and torque converter would still outrun it. I have a built Predator 224 to compare to the built 196. Don't get me wrong. If I needed another engine, I would get the Ducar 224.

I have a yamaha bw200 as my first bike for colorado ohv. I like stick shift in my mustang as the reason i went the dirt bike route. Problem is that if there is any mechanical problem beside oil change, i need a mechanic. I ride alone and worry about getting stranded. Wondering if i would be better off to exchange for a minibike. Also wondering if i would miss the shifting. Advice?
@lifeoffline22488 күн бұрын
Those are some awesome bikes for sure. A 196cc mini bike will be slower at first, with mods you can get 40-50mph. You can do motor swaps and essentially it's only 6 bolts. Very easy to work with. Mine has not broken down on me in 2.5 years and I treat it like crap. So very reliable, but I keep an extra belt and extra chain for long rides. I have rebuilt my 450 once already and had it less time than my mini bike. And I treat the dirt bike great. Shifting is fun but I don't miss it when Im riding, it just so entertaining to be on a mini bike haha

I recently got a similar light and would love to see a wiring breakdown
@lifeoffline2248Ай бұрын
Oh man I did this Soo long ago I don't remember. I located ground I think it was black and just started adding power to the wires and marking them as they lit up the different sections on the light. I know there is a hi/low setting and a day time running option. I also added a switch to turn on the daytime running, otherwise it's always on. So it went power wire from switch to handle bar light control. Handle bar light control had a ground, now the day time should turn on with aux switch on then I also used the aux switch to power hi and low . Handle bar controller controls which setting of lights your on.

I agree that there is some tasks and adventures that can be done on both but there are specific things only a dirt bike can do. Most of these things (high speed, massive gaps) are a bit behind me now as I am almost 35 but I still do value a high speed Hillclimb which allows for real intense and long hills to be possible.
@lifeoffline22482 ай бұрын
I definitely get that as I'm 33 haha, I love riding the mini bike but I do need to be able to jump and go fast to. But no one said you can't have both :)

Comparing 2 different sized coolers makes no sense. Thermal mass is profoundly different. Apples and oranges.
@lifeoffline22483 ай бұрын
I know it's almost insane that the Yeti which is twice as small cost twice as much, but for the money. Igloo is where it's at. Plus when are you using these coolers for 100hrs?. Both are good basically to the end anyway. So it's a win win. Except for the cost

you shouldve atleast compared the dirtbike to a fully built minibike, they get anywhere from 40-50 hp and can also go over 100mph pretty easily as long as you build it with the right motor (224 predator or 212 ghost build) and cost somewhat the same as the dirtbike total, maybe even less
@lifeoffline22483 ай бұрын
I don't believe a predator motors will ever reach 100 mph without an entire billet rebuild as well as welding the head for compression support. But I could be wrong. Best bet is A 225 tillitson might get 100mph, it would be turtle slow under like 50mph as well, but you're right! you would need to be pushing like 40 horsepower out of a little motor. Which oddly enough would cost you more than or equal to a dirt bike. So why build when you can buy. But the point of this video was not to compare them in price or speed but to show that they both are bikes they can both get you to where you want and some people don't like to go fast so maybe they want a slower vehicle. Mini bike would be great for that. And to be honest that many bike goes up all the hills my dirt bike does too haha just not if they are like 15 stories
@cameronwilson18153 ай бұрын
@@lifeoffline2248You are right about the lower end speed, but it's not super slow, just a little bit slower than the high end. And yeah you would have to do a whole billet rebuild for it to get top speeds of 100 mph, however, the price of a FULLY built predator 212-224 would easily only be about a thousand dollars. That's for new piston, connecting rods, cam shaft, bigger valve springs, and pretty much everything else you need to do to it included. They make roughly 25-30 horsepower on average, but there are a lot of builds out there that have significantly higher. Like the drag build that a man made out of a ghost 212 with methane instead of normal gasoline, it hit 137 in rougly 7 seconds, which in my opinion is a lot faster than most dirtbikes. It was specifically built for drag though, and much more impractical than a dirtbike, so I will agree that dirtbikes are a lot better than minibikes in general, I just feel that it's a little bit unfair to put a minibike (900-1100 dollars) against a 7 thousand dollar dirtbike and genuinely compare the two.
@lifeoffline22483 ай бұрын
But that is the exact point. Is for it to be slower and cheaper. I'm not comparing speed and price, I'm comparing fun. Like people who aren't used to power won't feel safe on a dirt bike, but might take out a mini bike. It's to get more people informed about the different options available. I just did a comparison style video so you can see they do the same things just at different paces.
@cameronwilson18153 ай бұрын
@@lifeoffline2248 Well what im saying is that mini bikes can be just as fast and powerful as dirtbikes
@lifeoffline22483 ай бұрын
I totally get that, would be fun with an 80mph mini bike. But I got the dirt bike cause I wanna fly to haha. Definitely would not try that on any mini bike. ( Even though it would be like the coolest thing in the world haha)

This was not a good test. But as I was told by an expert, the new yetis are basically igloo . So do you research on rotational molded coolers to get good quality not just a brand name. Realistically if you just want cooler for the beach or weekend event best money is spent on the igloo. At most you have to buy some more ice. Hint precool any one you choose for several hours if you can before putting food in. A hot plastic cooler will leach the cold from your food or beverage items.
@lifeoffline22484 ай бұрын
True,it was not the best comparison 😂 we still use both coolers.
