The Killers “Don’t Shoot Me Santa Clause” comes to mind. My curiosity is piqued by “Christmas in LA.” Your shared number 1 pick is excellent.

I LOVED all the lyrical/poetry analysis in this episode. I gotta admit this episode made me more interested in Blake than Brown. The instrumentation on Brown’s album is beautiful, though.

Fun to experience the excitement you guys felt about this artist. The orchestral arrangements of Judee Sill, Jim Sullivan, and Nick Drake are so beautiful. Excited for the next episode 💙

I barely discovered this video. I'm not sure if you were aware due to your trip but there's a new Kinnikuman anime that just finished it's 1st season. It will come back very soon in January 2025. The anime is available via Netflix with 12 episodes. Terribull was the Mattel name for Buffaloman. Terryman is human looking wrestler from Texas based on Terry Funk.

Such a great episode! Judee Sill’s music is so good it really makes you reevaluate music as a whole. I think the savant comparison is apt, she just had such a complex and COMPLETE vision for what she wanted to create; or perhaps it was a connection to something akin to the divine. While I do get hit in the feels like I do when I hear Nick Drake, Judee is incomparable. She is a singular force of creation.
I actually had the exact same thought about Good Luck Babe - reminds me a lot of Hounds of Love’s sound!

Haven’t listened to your post yet but intend to as kinks are one of my all time favorite bands! Their best albums for me shift but village Green, something Else, Arthur, Lola and Powerman, Muswell Hillbilly and Face to Face are the ones who are fighting it out as my top kinks albums though they have many others that I love too !

I really like “Misfits” for a late 70s Kinks album.
@etamommy4 ай бұрын
@@DJThinK707 I liked that one too. Live life, Permanent Wave (funny song), Hay Fever (also pretty humorous lyric- Ray was always one for self-deprecating humor - like in wish I could fly like Superman (I did my knee bends my push ups, my touch my toes, I had another sneeze and I blew my nose…) off of low budget. But also were more inclusive acknowledging crossdressing as a thing and kind of saying hey so what if a person likes that !?? With their catchy song out of the wardrobe but possibly my favorite on that album was Dave Davies song trust your heart! Great tune. Misfit - the song also is very good as is rock and roll fantasy and brother. I’ve there probably named all but the closer foreign land - which was a decent song - about average (if you want an escapist song of kinks - I’m on an Island is it I think). Yes you are correct doing this from memory here - it is a really good record!

In Morgan Freeman voice: Casey was indeed thinking of Carrie Underwood. Lambert’s Kerosene is a great song.

Oooh, I LOVE this album! Probably top 3 for me. This Time Tomorrow/Strangers make such a strong, moving pair of songs. It’s an all thriller/no filler album; so strong from start to finish.
