Hello Sir, Thank you for the great video explaining automation using Pandas & Pytest. But I doubt that if we have multiple tables with huge data (GBs) which is mostly the case in real world, Using Python Pandas won't be as performance efficient...It would take many hours to compare mere 10-15 tables. We generally deal with 600-1500 tables in real big data projects. I think Apache PySpark which leverages the power of distributed computing and processing should be the more performance efficient and reliable method to build the test script upon. Let me know your thoughts ?

Sanity Testing in ETL ensures that any specific changes or bug fixes are working correctly in the ETL process. Both tests are applicable in ETL testing, not limited only to traditional software testing, and are used to confirm the basic or focused functionality of the ETL process before moving on to more detailed testing.

It's like this until we need data ( obviously no question about it , with days passing , data is only increasing :) ), etl processes are required to consolidate them and process in desired business format, somebody need to verify the correctness of entire process built to process , hope this gives you some insights

great video. Question, what the mechinism to refresh the materialized view in data warehouse environment? I meant how it gets refreshed?

Refreshing materialized view really depends on business requirements and data load frequency in the warehouse/table. Generally the best practice is to trigger the scheduled refresh job via db scheduler either complete or fast refresh based on your load type ( full load or incremental load). We must keep it mind that refresh is triggered during non business hour to avoid any operational or financial impact due to unavailability of data in materialized views. e g. Your warehouse gets the market related reference data weekly so there is no point in doing refresh on daily basis. It makes sense to do it weekly when new data loads in warehouse. Hope this clarifies

Good video. Very nice explanation. I want to add few things here. If I am wrong please let me know. Major diff bw union and join 1) In all set operators no of columns must be same, order of columns must be same for two or more select statement which is used, but it is not case for join . 2) Join is based on condition either is using join or where, but it is not in case of set operaors. Rest everything is correct and nice video

Hello . In your last question , why can’t we use grep - i “linux” to display all the Linux word available in the .txt file then take wc -l . Since grep -i also displays the word Linux irrespective of case just asking will it be correct way to do it ?
