How do you clean your spatula and cup after you are done?
@SentimentalSalvage
@SentimentalSalvage Ай бұрын
I let the resin set up with the spatula (or without) then I just pull it all out, usually in one go. Sometimes I flip it inside out to get all the little bits.

This is so beautiful; it's how I make some paintings but with a blow dryer. I want to do this to my art room floor, but I am worried about the impact of the paint on concrete floors. All my Google searches state specific paints should be used on concrete for various reasons. Before I buy the DIY paint, please tell me how you determined it is safe for concrete floors? Also, what steps did you take to prep the floor? I'm eager to start this project within the next week or two and am conflicted about what products to use. Thank you so much, and bravo, your floor is stunning!
@SentimentalSalvage

Thank you! To be honest... I did ZERO research on which paints will work well on concrete. It wasn't even a concern. That being said, I've been painting with DIY Paint for so many years that I seldom even think of such things because DIY Paint is so clean. No nasty chemicals and strong odors at all - just nine simple ingredients. For prep - I just made sure I vacuumed really well and gave it a good wash. If I ended up hating it, we would just put flooring down which was the original plan. Budget said to try painting it first and I love it!

Never use 70% alcohol with resin, it has to be 91%! The resin she uses I wouldn't use. Seems to be too much trouble. I never have trouble with resin.

Obviously it doesn't 'have' to be 91% because it worked perfectly. You also don't HAVE to use this specific resin... that's the great part of having so many available options... you can do and use whatever you want. Happy crafting!

Thank you! Yes, the white resin doesn't have the bubble issue. The high viscosity clear resins do. They work great but they're definitely a different animal than the quick-set white. 😊

Thank you for this video; that was very helpful. Do you think eventually at the under cured mold with the ripples, will eventually harden? I like the look of that one as well!
@SentimentalSalvage
@SentimentalSalvage 2 ай бұрын
You're very welcome! I'm not sure - I don't think so because it's been a couple weeks already since I poured that one. I do know that if it's just a matter of your room being to cold for the resin to set in it's normal time-frame, it will eventually harden up from being a little flexible. But, if not mixed thoroughly enough, I don't think it ever will.
