The orange model is crazy tunes, completely unavailable these days. The similar white model was barely available until people started figuring it out, now it is probably completely unavailable. But the green model was still available and I wondered if it was any good. No youtubers were showing it so it was hard to learn anything about it. Now that I see it out of the package it looks good and would be perfectly acceptable for my occasional use.

You're the first to compare these two. Others compare the orange one and say they are different cause of the liners.

That knife sucks, it flexed and breaks in middle handle and by blade, so if u needed to use it for defense, good luck.

I want this, but with some sort of half-blade exposed more traditional style and with a well designed and sturdy release for the blade so one can use half the blade and then flip it around and lock it back in. Like the husky utility knife I’ve had for years. Basically that…. But make the build quality and sturdiness way higher. Hope they make something like that too.

They sent this knife to me. Just got it today, and the first thing I did was compare it to my Praxis and the blades look identical but this one is actually visibly smaller than the Praxis. Other than that I haven't played with it but it does feel solid.

I have this and the blade length is slightly over 2". I also think they missed an opportunity to make this knife even better keeshaw should have put a choil that would have allowed a full grip of the knife. And no jimpping is another missed opportunity that would have made this lil knife one of thee best.

Is there a legal reason they wont make this line thats just a button release and then the blade slides out like a gravity knife? Seems like an obvious design for manual otf/slide knives. Its kinda just making a gravity knife another way i guess but still would be interesting.

It might be fine but in my experience those cheap knives dull quickly and don't resharpen well AT ALL. If anyone has experience with that please let us know, cheap or not, in the end a knife is only as good as it's blade.
@billj5645
@billj5645 3 күн бұрын
That's the way it will be unless you spend a lot more money. I have the white knife that was sold alongside these green ones. Mine came extremely dull so I sharpened it, not too hard to sharpen with my equipment. I've been carrying it for normal use cutting paper, cardboard, occasionally whittling on wood in my workshop and it is holding up pretty well, better than I expected. I suspect there are similar priced knives on the market that will be much worse, and of course expensive knives that will be much better. I think edgeholding is on par with what I would expect from a $20-$40 knife although the cheap knives available on Amazon with D2 steel probably do a little better than that.

It didn't sound like your TR-3 had much/any lock stick. How was the action on yours? Mine came out of the box with quite a bit of lock stick. This is my first Protect button lock. Do I just need to break it in a bit to get rid of the lock stick?

Lame design on the behalf of the manufacturer. A blade that sharp should not be subject to that much play, that is ridiculous. I wouldn't spend a dollar on that. Thanks for the great video!

Agreed. I've got the older design and have been using it for a few years now. The blade can be deployed with one hand. As for blade play, this is a utility blade, so I don't understand the criticism.

Cool and simple little knife, and you really can't argue with that price tag. For $25, it would make for a great little stocking stuffer gift. I snagged one of Civivi's Propugnator fixed blade knives on sale not that long ago and it came with that same exact lanyard. It's nice, but I ended up giving it to a friend since I made my own lanyard. It's cool to see that they're including it with other knives though.
