LOL. Low turn out. I was checking my local tracks on live RC. You had more people racing and marshling than a few had total racers. But I hope you have a good season. I am working on getting my stuff ready to race but real life keeps popping me on the nose saying HEY no fun for you.

Nice and fair at the end. Niko clipped Carlos and gave him the spot back even though it was the final turn. Great vid.

Just curious and I will never be in a position to race at your track, but what kind of tire life are your racers seeing at this track? Is it one main and done? Does it take several sets to get through a race day? Sorry not trying to throw shade just working my way back into rc racing and trying to get handle on expected tire bill for racing.
@CoralSpringsRCTrack5 ай бұрын
Hey Richard, no worries. It depends on the weather and track conditions. The mostly used tires are DD's, Hole Shots and Pro RC 1 is starting to be used by the E-Buggies. If the track is wet and tacky big pins otherwise small pins work best. The tires can wear out from a day to a month or so. It's all depends on soft, super soft and driving styles. The track is high bite so wearing will happen but we use calcium so the track's moisture is locked in. In some conditions, you could use slicks or worn out tires, due to lowering the possibility of traction rolling. I hope this helps.

What's the go to tire for this class?
@CoralSpringsRCTrack8 ай бұрын
Small pin tires JConceps Reflex, Stalkers there are a few others but the traction gets built up fast so you can do you mix from super soft to soft.

What's the go-to tire for 1/8 e-buggy?
@CoralSpringsRCTrack8 ай бұрын
There are a few guys at the track that are selling a new brand of tires. Not sure what they're called but the guy who always wins the E Buggy Class owns a share of the company.

Coral Springs! Hey i live there to do you know of any tracks that run 5th scale gas RC? I have a Losi 5T 2.0 and live in South Florida would love to find a track to play at
@CoralSpringsRCTrack8 ай бұрын
Unfortunately, there are no 5th scale tracks in the southeastern part of Florida. I have heard about some on the west coast but not sure if they are accurate. I'd look over there to see. Best of luck on finding them. Let us know if you do.

Seeing how many issues people had with traction rolling, this is one reason why I'm not a fan of modern super-high bite tracks. On something a bit looser, if you drove your car too hard you'd either oversteer, which can be corrected with almost no loss of speed or time, or understeer which can be recovered from with just a bit of a time loss. But on something as tight as treated clay or carpet, you end up traction rolling before you break traction, and can result in your car ending up on its lid, requiring the assistance of a marshal.
@CoralSpringsRCTrack8 ай бұрын
Yes, the track can go from medium to high bite. However, most of us learn quick and when to use certain techniques to make sure we don't keep rolling. You do make a good argument pertaining to this and all we use is calcium sulfide to keep the moisture in the track.

The leader flipped on his own at about 3:20. Don't yell at the lappers. They did nothing wrong this time. Never mind. Lappers caused chaos at the 4:20ish mark that undid the first crash and for the rest of the race.
@CoralSpringsRCTrack Жыл бұрын
Yes, they did and this class is usually really good at driving smart. Let's hope they get good at it again. Thanks for the critique. It was the first real day with no rain during the week. There was a lot of traction which might have been part of the reason some took advantage while others had to figure it out. Keep the comments coming it helps with the program.

The leader was a lap ahead at the end, the p2 & p3 guys were 13.341 seconds parted. It was really good, the leader just drove consistently throughout the race and it's a fast track for E Buggies. They all love the layout. We'll be racing again this weekend and will have the videos out starting this coming Monday.
