The Alpha antennas are pointing in the wrong directions. The label should face you. You need to do it again for a proper test.

Alfa antennas work great.

Good content, I wish you would have tried the Alfa 9dbi Omni-directional antennas they are actually $1.00 cheaper than the ones you tried, but they look as though they would do a better job. I bought them, so I'll let you know how they do.

Hi great video, thanks. I've not had much success with Solo, not at all. Tried the FPVLR and range remains under 2000'. Tony even sent a replacement but I get same result. That with Sunhans boosters attached as well! Same thing w/o boosters. Due to compounded issues I even got 3DR to replace my original Solo. The 2nd Solo is much better than the original but range remains way less than what I've seen here and elsewhere. The odd thing is that on Solo I consistently get significantly better performance from the Alphas than from the FPVLR antenna? I use FPVLR in many of my other drones and always have great results. Do you have any thoughts or suggestions? I'm about ready to just sell Solo and be done with it. Only thing holding me back is the GoPro functionality and the fact I have substantial investment in Solo batteries and other accessories. I'd take a huge $ loss.I keep hoping I can find a fix so I can use GoPro productively in air - which is the only reason I bought Solo to begin with. Thanks.

I own a small recording studio so I am more trained to listen for sound. The external to me was like getting my ears cleaned compared to the GoPro internal. Worth the money? That's a personal choice, but I am sure that there are many better sounding mics than the internal GoPro.
