I heard this mesmerizing song in a CD about alternative renewable fuels in 2005. It was just background music, but I tracked it down and was richly rewarded by discovering Eliza's ode to the survivors of the 2004 tsunami. This is the best choral version of all the interpretations of this song on line. You can hear the individual tremolos of the talented singers. What a work of art!

There was a gentleman, whose name I no longer remember, who went around with a tape recorder, through the black churches of Chicago and Detroit, recording tunes that were never written down, and then he transcribed them onto paper, so white choirs could sing like black choirs. This tune is one of those. Get those singers to lose their binders, and start swaying. They do sound glorious, good job.

All composers/producers are human and as such sinners.. I will always live and sing/listen this composition despite some self serving righteous feeling establishments 'banning' this song.. 😊

Come to me Come to me Come when you are weary Come to me Come to me And I will give you rest 1. All who labour and are burdened All who labour and are burdened Let them come to me Come to me And I will give them rest 2. Take my yoke upon your shoulders Take my yoke upon your shoulders And learn from me, learn from me For I am gentle in heart 3. For the heart I hold is humble Yes the heart I hold is humble And my yoke is easy, my burden light And you will find rest for your soul

Your choir is lovely. Many of us have loved David Haas' songs, however, you need to know the history behind these songs. David Haas sexually and psychologically abused girls and young women for decades. This song was written for a girl, and most of his songs also were written as the love he "felt" for the girls, not between God and us. There are over 70 incidents involving him and underage or young adult women. The women have come forth with their stories about him abusing them. I don't know why he isn't in a jail cell, frankly. This information is easily. found online. Many bishops have asked for the removal of these songs, and a company who compiles the songbooks for Mass have removed his songs for future books.

all lies from a protestant? There is justice in the catholic church because there is nothing hidden in the Mother Church. Is this a way to destroy the Church. Are you not a singer? Only God knows

You who dwell in the shelter of the Lord Who abide in His shadow for life Say to the Lord, "My refuge, my rock in whom I trust!" And He will raise you up on eagles' wings Bear you on the breath of dawn Make you to shine like the sun And hold you in the palm of His hand The snare of the fowler will never capture you And famine will bring you no fear Under His wings your refuge, His faithfulness your shield And He will raise you up on eagles' wings Bear you on the breath of dawn Make you to shine like the sun And hold you in the palm of His hand You need not fear the terror of the night Nor the arrow that flies by day Though thousands fall about you, near you it shall not come And He will raise you up on eagles' wings Bear you on the breath of dawn Make you to shine like the sun And hold you in the palm of His hand For to His angels He's given a command To guard you in all of your ways Upon their hands they will bear you up Lest you dash your foot against a stone And He will raise you up on eagles' wings Bear you on the breath of dawn Make you to shine like the sun And hold you in the palm of His hand And hold you, hold you in the palm of His hand
