Never been into the H2 scene, but got completely mind blown by this piece of art. Incredible clips, flow, colors, and vibe. Especially love how the DM-song was utilized. 10/10!

@ZRTROOKIO How did you learn how to do all this editing in your halo videos? Like how did you learn and what type of softwares / programs are you using? Also, how are you able to show your H2 Spartan in a 3rd person out of body view, since H2 Classic doesn't have a forge mode on MCC. Sorry for all the questions and have a wonderful week! Honestly I primarily learned by just watching a bunch of other videos and trying to emulate the parts that I liked to the best of my ability. A lot of my editing process is just brute forcing the video until it looks good, I'm not overly technical about it. Nowadays I edit everything in Davinci Resolve. As for the 3rd person angles, I've used a lot of methods over the years. Currently by far the best way is to film is on Project Cartographer using a mod tool called Bounce Companion. It has a dolly cam which has basically made every technique I've ever used obsolete. If you play on Xbox MCC and don't have access to mod tools, I would recommend enabling the blind skull for a camera, and setting the gravity to low if you want the camera to fly. Hell yeah would love to see you back, theres still some good lobbies running and 1s have been my favorite thing to play recently because we have OGH2 settings with uncapped framerate and settings to remove spawn protection

I just watched a lot of vids with editing that I liked and then tried to replicate parts of what I saw. Mainly I just slapped shit around in editing softwares to get a feel for the tools and pressed buttons until I got something that I felt looked good. Also love your profile pic I use the same one on whatsapp haha

@@ZRTROOKIO I’ve been trying to learn Premiere by messing around and also watching tutorial vids. Glad to hear that much skill is attainable through that route. Just oozes style. This is an all time great Halotage. One question I’ve always had about filming alternate angle shots in H2 montages is, how is that attainable in H2 with no theatre mode? I get it in H3 but I don’t understand how it’s done in H2. Haha that’s awesome. One of my fav movies as a kid growing up.

This Is a nice montage, don't get me wrong. But it's beyond over edited. Every clip doesn't need to be slow motion, point sped up with a little distortion or shake added on.. not everything needs EA lense flashes. Remember the whole point of a montage is the reveal of clips and the skill in them. That's really hard to properly see when every single scene is edited to absolute hell. Look at all of Phurions montages. Look at the old H3F Movie Contests, they were extremely edited and put together but not even remotely close to this in levels of overediting. The clips could be amazing, could have 5x Jaros strung around everywhere. But if you can't properly SEE the clip progressing without being slammed by a light flash, a distortion a zoom in on some random section of a spartan and then a full circle back to conclude the epic installment of a multikill you couldn't really see happen. It takes away from the skill needed to even make the BONES of the video, let alone the glammer of the editing.

Carto with bounce companion what acts like a dolly cam and I think very few angles were blu trainer

Generally I set up camera points for a dolly using bounce companion and just act myself in the angle until I get a shot I’m satisfied with. I also often use blutrainer to slow down/ freeze time as needed
