Did you mix your paint with thinner ? If so, how many ratios ? I just started this hobby and am planning to do handpaint custom, it looked terrible on the first try...

Yes, It depends on the concentration of the paint, but it's usually about 1:1~1:2. I use it a little thicker when applying brush paint because it tends to run off if it's too thin.

@@fb_handmade_fun Thanks for the reply. Recently I am applying Primer to my kit, using a handbrush. The results are coarse. I even do some water sanding with smooth grit but it peels off the paint instead. Any tips on Handbrush technique???

@@kingarzal1502 I can't give you good advice, but... The primer has particles in it that may be what is making it rough. If there are no scratches on the substrate, you might want to use a primer with finer particles.

Using rhinestones for cameras has a great effect! It really makes them pop. The build looks great!

Thanks for the comment. Actually, the first coat is the paint that has the function of a surfacer primer.

You don't have to, aside from the golden lines (which was unpainted for some reason) there is actually no need to paint. It's just a personal preference to go the extra mile.

Quick question, is it even necessary to sand off any more than just the gate marks prior to painting? Also what type of paint

Thanks for the comment. Sanding seems to be used to enhance edges and eliminate unevenness created by resin molding. I often use Gaianotes brand of paints.

Yes. You can use it to shape it as you like. But it's a lot of work, so if you don't think it's necessary, you may not have to do it. I think it's a trade-off between the hassle and the finished product.

do you use top coat? and what coat (flat, semi gloss or gloss) do you recommend to apply when you have part metallic color?

In this case, I used a flat topcoat. I wanted a dull color, so the metal parts were also treated with flat. It is recommended to use flat, semi gloss or gloss depending on how much gloss you want.

いろんな方の、アルカディア号の作例を見てきましたが、アレンジが嫌味なく 効いていて楽しく視聴できました。 箱絵よりも、艦首周辺の色調は初期設定に近くて、参考になりました。
