I'm also missing Great Mazinger, God Mazinger, Mazinkaiser, Getter Robo G, Getter Robo Go, Shin Getter Robo vs Neo Getter Robo, New Getter Robo, Astro Boy 1980, G Gundam, Gundam Wing, Gundam X, Gundam SEED Destiny, Gundam 00, Gundam AGE, Reconguista in G, Betterman, Brave of the Sun Fighbird, The Brave Express Might Gaine, Brave Police J-Decker, Eureka Seven, Super Beast Machine God Dancouga, Dancouga Nova, Super Heavy God Gravion, Gravion Zwei, Dangaioh, Mashin Hero Wataru, Mobile Police Patlabor, Blue Gender, Fafner in the Azure, Majestic Prince, Kenzan Robo Daimidaler, and many many others. The point is, I'm not going to make a 3 hour feature of every robot anime ever.

Not only was I trying to stick to TV series as much as a could (Diebuster is an OVA), but 2004 was a packed year. Gundam SEED Destiny was my first choice, but ultimately, I went with an anime showing the progression of an old series (Tetsujin 28) and an anime representative of the time (Kannazuki no Miko; I also just like this one personally).

Forgot 86 existed, maybe if I remembered, I'd put it with Dynazenon. As for Darling in the Franxx, SSSS.GRIDMAN was just the better received Trigger mecha show that year. If I were to put a second series in for 2018, it'd be Shinkalion.
