This is how to properly troll and fk with your audience. He publicly stated that it was meant to prove that the audience would call him brilliant no matter how unbrilliant it was. It was a joke that no one got. He wanted to see how far he cohld push the audience before they started pelting him with eggs. But they just called him “brilliant.” He told Revolver ‘it’s not brilliant. I was just fucking with you.’

I love the fact that one of the last Lou Reed's projects was something like this. He, and John Cale, are truly the goodfathers of modern noise rock

I've avoided this record for years, I have all of Lou's recorded output. He is my favorite songwriter. He's always had that scary side, intermixed with great music. I could just never see how this combination of Lou and Metallica, whom I have had no use for. But here they sound great, and Lou, who probably knew he was dying, sounds like he is trying to vomit out his last great recording, his art, It is successful on all levels for me. This record scares the shit out of me, just like Berlin did years ago. Greatness

i remember when i was in college, in a conference, a teacher told how he visited NY, gave some money to the homeless, Time Square, sounds good, but what is the meaning when he dk abt Lou Reed? i mean, he flew nearly half earth circle for such bs?

I might be in the minority but I actually kind of dig this. Lou's delivery and lyrics sound like some kind of insane preacher.

I was there and what this video fails to capture is exactly just how deafening it was. It was SO. LOUD. But in the best way possible. If got into your spine and into the center of your skull. At the time I had no idea how important being in that room was. Man I am thankful.

Many times artists and poets communicate their view of the future. This is Lulu's view which is a lot like my own. We should heed the warning of this doom and gloom scenario. Let's maintain our history, reason, meaning and purpose. For as Bob Marley said, "If you don't know your past you don't know your future." If we continue in the current direction our future will be very much like Lulu's view

Yes heartbreak is normal. Love is pure. Who despises this? This cannot be the people of today. Therefore I see it as the direction we are being forcibly led into. This entity claims to be the "root", "aggressor", "tablet" and "progress". This can only be the directors of the world. It's clear to me that the offering of suffering for our gold can only be our taxes. Soul shaking in a coffin is fear. This is what they do best. They want us in fear. Fear is a delusion.

What causes you to cross your sacred boundaries. It can be lust, loneliness or money. Lulu said, "I have no morals". Is this man, woman or the direction of our world? I believe it's the direction of the world. She worships the young, so do most worldly affiliations. "Give up a life of reason." We should maintain our reason. How can we progress without it? To doubt every meaning we've amassed suggests we give up our history. Who do you suppose would like us to do this?

My initial opinion is this is how Lulu see's the world (or men) to be. I don'd think it's a very good view of men or the world. I will listen again for details.

Responding to myself, I admit these artists don't have to answer to anyone as to why they do shit, but from this listeners point of view (read MY Opinion), I can't tell who the audience is supposed to be. Maybe No-one?

I have respected certain periods of both metallica and lou. The only odd thing about this project is the obvious question of "WHY?" This combination is not a good nor necessary idea for either artist. The whole damn thing is ill-conceived

No Megadeth is still not a better band. "Pretty much over". According to you mr 80's Dave and Cliff, thats all people like you can say. WELL THEY ARENT THERE ANYMORE. Whats the point of caring about Metallica then? just empty the mag allready. Cliff was good. But he was a human just like James and the others. Not somekind of god who created heaven and hell.

@SimSuicide Im sorry? I never said anything about Dave, Megadeth is accually the better band and deffenatly after this ( just to remind you you brought this up not me ) After Metallica lost the "Dave Juice" and lost Cliff it was pretty much over, they made a few good songs but no real Metallica songs Which leaves me to say R.I.P. MetallicA 1988 (Release of AJFA) and Im not sure if you ever looked into the Metallica/Dave thing but they've made up a long time ago and are touring together.

@JeffWatersRules I dont, but it dosent makes Megadeth (who allways lived in the shadow of Metallica) better than them. This a side project that is not to my likeing. Is it Metallica in its purest form? No. Im just saying fuck megadeth and old agry little Dave Mustard and fuck people who come here to relive the 80's Just die allready if your so drawn to the past, it reminds me of an alcoholic who allways looks back. Get a grip and move on.
