I love this. I’m 28. My wife is 26. We have a “D/s marriage” as we like to call it. Well really it’s a Christian D/s marriage but we don’t wish to push our beliefs on those who don’t believe. Anyway. We’ve been married for about 18 months. And we’ve been together for 7 years. I’ve always had a dominant personality and dominant drives. Care giving. Leadership. Teaching. Correction. Service. All of it. And she’s always had submissive desires and traits but because of her past of being abused and taken advantage of and disrespected and neglected emotionally and spiritually, she wasn’t in the right place to be in this type of relationship when we got together at 20 and 19. She understood who and what I was and I understood who and what she was deep inside but it would take time if it could even happen. For example she expressed submissive sexual desire which was limited itself because of the trauma and wasn’t comfortable with wide reaching relational submission. So we spent the first 4-5 years fairly vanilla 50/50 but slowly reaching close and closer to our authentic selves without the cloud of trauma. Until we were in a place where we mutually decide to lean into both our faith, our desired relationship dynamic and just go all in instead of tip toeing and splashing in the shallow end. And it’s made an incredible difference. It didn’t “force us” but rather gave us the frame work for better communication, trust, safety and just an over all more intimate and harmonious relationship. And marriage. And it’s incredible. We went from “is this even the relationship we should be in?” To “we asked those questions because we were not living up to who we truly are. Fear complacency and passivity was holding us back.” And now. We feel truly authentic powerful and free in our faith and marriage. And it is increase to say the least. It’s the biggest blessing I could ask for. Second only to the grace of God and sacrifice of Christ. I am so blessed and greatful and I love seeing others enjoy the same harmonious dance that marriage is supposed to be. It’s utterly beautiful in every way.
@thomasmarchese2808Ай бұрын
This. This this. It’s not tyrannical domineering and door Matt subservience. It’s sacrificing our needs first for our wife’s needs first. As an act of love and service. And she in return helps with my needs as her husband and a person with needs. And not “in return” as in transactional but “in return” as in (her words) “why wouldn’t I help you with your needs when you bend over backwards and go to the moon and back for mine? That’s what marriage and D/s is” she also loves and needs me to choose what it is that I want within our discussed boundaries and limits relieving her of having to make these rather arbitrary choices and instead I choose what I want which include pleasing her as much as I possibly can. It’s an amazing a beautiful harmonious dance. Not just in the bedroom but in life. I lead. Taking care of her needs. Then my own with her help. I choose what I want which includes what she likes and wants and so it just makes things easier in so many ways. Less of the 20 billion questions and indecisiveness and wasting time sitting idol trying to figure out every little decision.

@thomasmarchese2808Ай бұрын
Then save your marriage and get to the bottom of the issue. My wife and I have been together for 7 years. Married for just over a year. We’ve had MANY arguments that came to the point of end it here or figure out the problem and move forward. And every time. We have gotten to the root of the issue. Acknowledged faults on both sides and what needs to be done to fix it. Of course that’s not a 1 time thing. It’s a continual process of self improvement and commitment on both sides. What’s important is that we’re both in the fight. Talk to her. Discuss what the issues are, what you each have missed the mark on and can and need to do to reconcile things. And then DO THAT. But you both have to be committed once you have that conversation. Prayers. Good luck.

The title of your video starts off on the wrong foot. Win ANY arguement (underscore win, capitalize any, as if to mean 'every single one') Trapped men fight hard , so I don't think that a good idea. But I did listen to the video. And you make very good points. Masculin men are steeped in assertiveness, so disagreeing with them needs a certain tactical je ne sais quois. You can't just bald face oppose him. That's recalcitrant. No man can stand that. Especially not the want you want. You have to propose 'an out'. An escape route. Even riot squad police always leave one street open so as to provide an alternative to confrontation. Or better yet, just tell him what your desired outcome is and let him work at providing that for you.

Hey, Andrew here! I actually did a lot of journalling about that when she was in the process of deciding whether or not to come along with me on this journey. And honestly, I'm kind of glad I never had to find out. I know I wouldn't have just walked away from her, but I also know that this was extremely important to me. I would have continued to step into my own strength and work on myself and hoped that she'd come around and understand what I was asking of her, but I can't say for sure that I would have stayed forever if she completely refused to give this a chance and fought against it. Because this was always about so much more than just D/s for me. It was about being in a relationship that valued polarity, passion, and deep intimacy, and my desire to create that for us. If I hadn't had the opportunity to lead her to the kind of relationship that I thought we were capable of having together, the resentment would have kicked in eventually. Like I said...pretty happy that I never had to make that decision.

A lot of dating advice on tiktok about how to get a man wrapped around your finger, is based on the book "why men love bitches", as well as academic research about the role of vasopressin in pair bonding, which has entered the public sphere (vasopressin is the male bonding hormone that makes him feel emotionally connected to a woman, ie "in love"). So now there are women on tiktok encouraging each other to stress the man out to elevate his vasopressln levels so he gets attached to you. The comments sections are full of women who swear that it works and basically telling each other you have to be mean to men and stress them out if you want love. Some of the more toxic ones are even advising women to trigger his trauma wounds to create more pain, because men need pain to fall in love. They have a saying "A man in pain is a man in love. Be his pain."
@AlignedAttraction8 ай бұрын
This breaks my heart. No man deserves to be treated that way or to be intentionally and even maliciously triggered. Thank you for sharing more about the book and research. As you can see, I stand on the other side of that spectrum. My deepest hope is to show people how to create deep intimacy and connection that’s based on a regulated nervous system and open heart.
@earthwormjim32698 ай бұрын
@@AlignedAttraction Just to clarify, most of that stuff I just mentioned is NOT from the book "why men love bitches", but that book is one of the things I see being promoted by women on tiktok. Regarding the vasopressin thing, I think there is some validity in it. Most of the women talking about vasopressin bonding are encouraging women to put "healthy stress" on a man by becoming the damsel in distress so that he can rescue you, giving him solvable problems, not being too easy for him etc, to stimulate vasopressin release. But there is a small number of women giving toxic advice and telling women you need to cheat on him, be a bitch to him, be crazy etc because men love pain.
@AlignedAttraction8 ай бұрын
@@earthwormjim3269 Ok gotcha -- thanks for clarifying! Men's brains are wired to complete the mission, win, achieve, so when there's a stimulus for that (even in him "winning" with a woman, it definitely lights the brain up! -- of course you already know this :p). There's just such a fine line between knowing how the science works and using it benevolently vs. using it with mal-intent or for maniuplation. Fascinating times we live in!

It's been my personal experience that men who would do anything for a woman receive nothing but contempt in return. Women sometimes fight tooth and nail to get what they want. But once they get what they want, they hold the giver in utter contempt for having given it. Men cannot win unless we quit playing the game. A mans wife should have no more influence over him than a complete stranger if he is to command any respect from her at all.

I am sorry, but I totally disagree with his approach and kind of find it bad for you. You are relying on his strength to heal you, what if he leaves ? u know what will happen? You will remember that he healed you, and that you need him to go through ur childhood issues. when u could have dealt with them yourself. This sounds like he's manipulating youto need him through touch and emotional means. What if he leaves u one day ? the wound will get bigger. A real man in my view, will listen, understand ur pain and lead you through the path of how to deal with it yourself without using emotional theatrics and physical touch. He will provide comfort u with words and a metod of approach, then at the end of the conversation he can hug u. His method sounds like a "u need me to heal" approach which will provide a temporary quick fix approach, on the long term will hurt u. U don't need a man to heal you that's very unhealthy for you. You need a man that can give you the comfort and love to push yourself forward. there's a big difference. The fact that he had to sing to you, as a way to provide comfort, is an emotional act and when dealing with childhood issues you need logic and pratical advice instead of emotional acts that really does nothing.

@AlignedAttraction of course thank you for not taking this as personal attack. Would be interesting to hear why u disagree
@AlignedAttraction9 ай бұрын
@@Ahicksaf For sure -- I like to create as much space as possible for other perspectives (as long as people aren't spewing hateful things)! I don't necessarily disagree (there are certainly times when we must learn to self-soothe and regulate our own emotions and nervous systems), but I also think there's a lot of nuance in how attachment wounding gets resolved. Most often when we experience attachment wounding (which was what I was experiencing that I described in this video), having another safe nervous system to co-regulate with is very supportive. Plus because attachment wounds get created in relationship with another person (usually a primary caregiver or parent), they often need to be healed IN relationship. In this case, my partner served as a safe space for me to resolve a very deep, old, and painful core wound. From a philosophical (and psychological) perspective, I don't think we're meant to heal on our own or in isolation (in most cases). Of course, it behooves us to learn to be self-sufficient...and, we're tribal/pack animals, thus it often benefits us to heal through relationship and in community. Thanks for asking about my perspective and prompting a great convo. And thank you for tuning in!

You just said about a vision laid out is important. My wife can relate to you on that. Most women don't see that most men live in farsightedness and most women live for the present which creates a conflict in a relationship. Most women want things to happen right now, soon when men see the picture of almost everything. We can see the result of things before they happen while our partner, wife whatever wants to run, go go go. God put patience in men and farsightedness to see the dangers and mistakes before they happen so they can lead their family safely. A lot of men make the mistake of compromising the already known outcome of something just to please the woman and then disaster is what usually results in the end. No money, no bond, no joy, just problems and trouble all the time. Just like Adam who knew the outcome of eating the fruit, he compromised for the woman knowing already through farsightednesss that it would lead to disaster. Your man was masculine when he needed to be and yet tender when he needed to be. A masculine man will never lead or allow his woman to run to danger even if it angers her or she hates him for it. Why? He loves her even at the risk of her disliking him.

What a thoughtful remark to this video. Thank you for taking the time to watch it and for sharing your perspective on this. I can’t tell you how many times my partner has said to me: “I will risk you not liking me right now to protect you and do what’s in your highest interest.” My ego hated it, yet it caused me to trust him even more and it created so much safety! Thank you for also walking the earth as that kind of man.

Yes. What women do not understand is (how you define) full submission is the only thing that allows a man to dote on his wife. Until this happens he will have concerns about encouraging a narcissist, balancing power dynamics, transactional fairness, etc... These women who pronounce themselves queens are so clueless/brainwashed.
@yeticusrex16619 ай бұрын
I think you have touched on and have explained very adeptly on your relationship dynamic since both of you are masculine in your daily pursuits, yet you must shift into your feminine when you are under the same roof to make your relationship more effortless when you interact with your man. I appreciate your viewpoint as the woman explaining why your man must be attentive to your feelings (without becoming your therapist), and take that into account when he is making decisions that will be most beneficial to both of you as a couple. Obviously, two-way communication is key here, where his listening and asking quality questions in order for you to open up to create a better understanding without making judgements on his side, and not making demands on your side. This repetition of this type of communication will open you up and creates the trust you need in order to submit to him once the trust has been established.

If this man is responsible for you in any way, then he has “authority” over you. If you enter into a relationship with a dominant male then he is your authority. Ladies, you cannot be in both worlds. Pick a side and deal with it. She constantly says leadership role, you as the feminine energy means you submit to his authority.
