According to Warren Buffet , If you were born in the western world You are better off than 90 per cent of the world...Another point he made is that we live better than the richest people in the world did a hundred years ago
@allmaxtube2 ай бұрын
Is it true what Buffet says? Do we live in more prosperity as opposed to people in their 60s or 70s? Electronics may gotten better and more affordable but a single person can't really make enough to provide for a family household with an average position. Other countries may or may not have a overall lower income standard but they also don't need to make as much in order to make a good living.

40+yrs ago, Whistler only had 1 strip mall that had a 7/11 store , a video store, a restaurant & gas station. Squamish only had a gas station & a store. Mostly Natives live in Squamish its part of their reserve lands. Pemberton was a mining community with a few houses. Lillooett is one of the oldest places in North America, part of the 1800s gold rush. Still mine for gold, forestry is another reason Lillooett is still operational. Back when covid hit, the towns Dr was the 1st to speak out against the vax, he didn't want his patients jabbed. Next thing that happened the town caught fire. My family camped outside of Lillooett 45+yrs ago, my sister went into labor & just made it to the Lillooet hospital & delivered a baby boy. Lillooett river drains into the Harrison lake. Harrison Hotsprings is between Agazzi & Hope. Along the highway corridor route #7. If you continued through Lillooett you would of popped out by Alexandria bridge & Boston bar. You can drive this loop through Vancouver, Squamish, Pemberton, Lillooett, Alexandria Bridge, Boston bar, Yale,Hope,Chilliwack, Abbotsford, Langley,Surrey, Coquitlam, Burnaby, Vancouver. Is about 605km loop.

The inflation's bad but the cup wasn't that big. I think $1.50 is probably the cost on ingredients. It doesn't consider wage, rent and other things though which probably make out most of the price.

Not true. Investigate, and you will find that two people can experience the same physical event (Losing a job, physical pain or discomfort, not having X or Y), but one suffers (feels dissatisfaction, anxiety, depression etc.), while the other one maybe not at all (or minimally and only briefly). And the reason is that suffering comes only from psychological resistance to reality. Its something you do to yourself by resisting that which is (and desiring it to be different). But if you practice not resisting, then you feel no suffering. Im not just saying it, this is my way of life. This is btw the core lesson in Buddhism. 2500 years ago, the buddha contemplated for a few years what the cause of human dissatisfaction/suffering was, and concluded that it was desire (for things to be otherwise). And he was right. So the trick is to accept/ not resist everything which happens and exist already, while at the same time take practical steps to improve things practically. If you lose your job, dont resist it. And now you sit without a job, not suffering. And then you go: "practically, having a job would make more sense, so I`ll start the application-process tomorrow morning". If you wish to learn more about this, Eckhart Tolle probably has one of the most easy to understand explanations. Or Buddhism, or so many other isms that are teachings based around the same realization and practice. Btw, you mention "If we allow ourselves to suffer, then the easier it becomes", so you on some level understand already that psychological resistance to the current situation, is the fuel of suffering. If you dont resist that you feel suffering, then suffering lessens.
@allmaxtube3 ай бұрын
Suffering can be experienced whether we accept reality for what it is or not.
@danman31633 ай бұрын
@@allmaxtube If someone accepts all that is, and doesn't desire that anything be different at this moment, then what could possibly be the cause of suffering for them? This is not a superhuman mystical ability, millions of people (I am one of them) all over the globe live their lives nearly free of suffering. Because they practice meditation, accepting what is, not resisting reality. You might not see it at this time, but my hunch is that in the future you will, because you seem nearly susceptible to a solution already. (and you will reduce your daily suffering significantly). Physical pain might still happen, but no suffering. Until then, suffering will be your teacher and eventually make you feel so dissatisfied that you stop resisting. Eventually. I encourage you to screenshot this comment and contemplate in which areas of life you feel suffering. You will find that it is exactly where you have a desire for things to be different at this time, and that might be because you dont feel whole and look for a wholeness of self in some condition that you wish to acquire one day. But this doesnt lead to a feeling of wholeness. Not resisting does.
@allmaxtube3 ай бұрын
How is any of this supposed to dispute that we inevitably have to encounter suffering? I doubt invalidating someone's suffering by telling them it's merely a resistance to reality or their desire for change is making it any better. Like I said, we can accept reality for what it is and still encounter suffering. Better to accept suffering as part of life in my opinion and not resist suffering itself. We can make other people suffer by our actions as well. Just ask yourself whether or not you can take actions that can have someone else suffer and if you honest then I'm sure the answer is not going to be "no" or "they just have to stop resisting reality".
@danman31633 ай бұрын
@@allmaxtube Today I can walk up to a woman and say "You are getting older, fatter and you will never find any man who wants you", and that will prob result in her feeling suffering for the next few days. For the average person, they believe it is the external conditions (in this case my comment to her, and also the reality of those comments) which cause them to feel suffering. But its their internal, psychological resistance. Like I mentioned; old age, death, disease, aloneness etc. these things come to everyone, but some suffer way more than others. And its because some resist them way more than others. We could write it like this: Suffering experienced = practically undesirable external condition * degree of resistance to that condition. And most people simply don't realize consciously that their resistance is a critical part of it. They believe that their degree of suffering is at the mercy of external conditions. And you should accept a state of current suffering itself also yes. Thats part of not resisting. If you feel dissatisfaction, a bit depressed etc. then you internally go: "I feel dissatisfied with how life is going, thats okay". Dont resist that you feel suffering, and it will diminish significantly like you experience already. And to live without suffering almost completely, just deepen this practice.
@allmaxtube3 ай бұрын
True. There can be some resistance towards things like growing old and I'm all for someone to check in with themselves to how they feel. Ultimately everyone has to suffer eventually though and I don't think that "resistance" or a non-acceptance towards something is also the only form of suffering either. There are things that can make people suffer that go beyond expressing the facts of reality. Hinting here at abuse, manipulation, t*rture, isolation or being messed with for example. Resistance or non-acceptance is not the issue here.

Hotels definitely are too expensive-two, three, four hundred bucks a night or more just to have a place to sleep for a few hours! But not a fan of dogs having the same rights as people. Don’t like seeing a dog sitting in a chair in a restaurant eating right along side humans. People with alternative lifestyles have always been with us and always will be. Seems a lot safer to live a conventional lifestyle than an unconventional one. If you want to produce something children or write a book or start a business you’d generally need some stability and a sense of control and security seems to me.
@allmaxtube3 ай бұрын
Good thing it doesn't have to be black or white and there are dog or pet friendly places for people that want or need it. There enough strict no pet friendly places that can be found. Conventional life can be a death to the soul and spirit but that depends on the person. And one thing working for one person may not work for another. If we start becoming annoyed merely by looking at something and think other people need to fit into our ways because we don't like something we see then we will soon find ourselves without any freedom at all. There are enough people that ruined things because people were supposed to cater to their "ways". Next thing we know no one is allowed to wear any colors because some people don't like looking at certain colors. if you get my drift.
