Wurlitzers finest achievement was the fox specials! Theatre organs dont come any better than this?

I remember Joe's 16 YO daughter playing that Mighty 3 manual 32 rank Wurlitzer theatre organ, [with all it's sound effect attachments] using just her feet on the base pedals, she was impressive! Then, sadly she died at age 16!

Jack was such a Great Man. He served our Country well. He encouraged young folks to get involved with the organ. It was such a loss when he passed. RIP my old friend...He is now playing for the Angles.

Doyle Johnson, is still alive and living in Baton Rouge. He was the director in the early 1970s. Let me know if you want me to contact him for you.

Hi. This is Paul Condit. Please contact Doyle Johnson for me. I took over directorship of the KMC from him, while he took over the Drum and Bugle Corps. He was the squadron commander and I was the admin officer.

Heard about the Byrd and its organ--the highlight of my visit to friends in Richmond--when the mighty Wurlitzer came up through the stage, just like in the movies, I started to cry!

Dear Lew, thank you for that night. I had no idea you has only 2 hours that day with no amplification while practicing. Sorry my home town was not more welcoming to the performers. That platform was obviously built with the Howard Seat in mind!

I used to take my children to hear the organ and enjoy their pizza; although, they were just about too spellbound by the music, smoke and bubbles to eat much pizza!! It was just one of those magical moments shared by our family. It's sad that the Pizza Palace closed. We remember it fondly.

The manual stop changes could be the combination action presets aren't operational. Or Jack didn't have time to set all of the presents to his desired registrations. Long Live the few Fox Wurlitzers!

I was in the Chorus from Feb 77 to Aug 77 under Col Starlings direction. We did concerts to honor heroes of Vietnam Col Day, Gen Chappy James to name a couple. While going through the lunch chow line the lady serving said..."Oh I dated an Ashley here about 40 years ago"...I said: Was his name Edward....she said: yes....It was my father there for some months training before deployment to Indochina theater in 1943.

I must say I'm not much of a fan of the screechy 1' Fife stops found on many theater organs, but Mr. Moelmann used it wonderfully.
