How much wind is there? it seems like 5-6 knots. or even leess

Probably was 7knots to get up on the foil and in the gusts where I bore away, with lulls to 5 maybe lighter for very short periods.

@sannybar no this was just a clip of me coming in at the end and got the speed at the start of the session.

That’s not 14 knots

Why are you jabbing the tiller?
@DeatonFoiling Жыл бұрын
This is to get rid of ventilation which is caused when foiling high in cold water. It causes your rudder to lose traction so you have to jab it to remove the air pocket to allow yourself to steer again.

@@DeatonFoiling you could try to put less lift on rudder

@@vitogiove2636yes that’s one way of correcting it if reducing overall height from the main foil does not do enough. I’ve found just from sailing myself this seems to work best and the occasional vent is ok as pushing the boat by riding higher helps a lot with speed, even if it does vent more during the winter. Thanks very much for the point!
