That first table saw cut on the inside of the bowl seems very dangerous

You can achieve the same outcome with a bar clamp and 2 square blocks. Clamp the blocks onto the ends of the wood piece. Cut 1 side and rotate 90 degrees and cut a second side. Now you have a flat bottom and fence edge. Easy peasy.

I’m building a toddler bed and debating between threaded inserts and barrel bolts. Which way should I go with?
@christofix
@christofix 19 күн бұрын
I would rather go for threaded inserts because they will offer a nicer finish and can be more concealed than barrel bolts. I hope this was able to help you.

Bravo, bel lavoro...nulla da dire sul design e sulle lavorazioni. L'unico appunto riguarda la praticità una volta smontato: occupa un sacco di spazio anche una volta disassemblato.

Such a shame the plans are no longer available. I thought I’d have a go at making these but then I read no more plans! Really disappointed!

Thank you so much for your interest in my plans! I completely understand your disappointment. Unfortunately, I lost all my hard work when my backup disk crashed, which was incredibly frustrating. However, I'm currently working hard behind the scenes to recreate all of my plans. It's a huge task, but I'm making progress and will have them ready for you in a couple of weeks. So keep following my channel and website. Thank you for your patience and support!

Mines just a 2x block with no handle or MDF hold down.Like the push stick socket for a handle. If you put a bevel on the block you can make bevel strips by flipping your stock every pass. Taper the block and you can make wedges again flipping the stock.

You are preaching to the choir. They do last. Bought a De Walt screw gun in the States in 2008 for around $100. 6 months later the batteries died. New battery $125! Decided to invest $400 in a Festool system in sustainer with offset chuck, right angle chuck, centric chuck and keyless chuck, two batteries and charger. Now 2024 and STILL going strong on the original batteries. QED. I recently bought a very expensive Danish (Barron) forced action cement mixer and in their regular contact emails the CEO asked me this question "Are you rich enough to buy cheap?" A very clever if not somewhat back to front question that also made me laugh. Festool is not cheap but you only buy it once and that is what will keep me rich (well, in my dreams anyway 😂) These are wise words in this video; white man does not speak with forked tongue.

Why is epoxy glue recommended vs other glues?
@christofix
@christofix 3 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching my video! Epoxy glue is recommended for gluing metal to wood because it forms a strong, durable bond with both materials. When mixed, epoxy resin and hardener chemically react to create a tough adhesive that fills gaps and adheres tightly. This makes the bond very reliable and long-lasting. Other glues, like wood glue or super glue, aren't as effective. Wood glue works well for wood-to-wood joints but doesn't bond well with metal. Super glue bonds quickly but is brittle and not great for filling gaps or handling stress over time. Epoxy's strength, gap-filling ability, and resistance to water and chemicals make it the best choice for securing threaded inserts in wood. I hope I was able to answer your question, my friend. Greetings, Christophe

I was like, hey that looks and works very efficiently and nice opening shot. Then I realized it was not in downdraft mode, but was in exhaust mode and reversed in post. Nice shot, but a little bit of a cheat.

Hi Chris, I tried to get the free plans in the link you shared but I wasn't successful. I didn't get the email. Could you please send them to me? Thanks, Ana. Lovely toy, by the way. I want to built it for my two-year-old boy :)
@christofix
@christofix 4 ай бұрын
Hi Ana, Thank you so much for reaching out and for your kind words about the toy! I really appreciate your interest in building it for your little boy. I must apologize for the inconvenience regarding the free plans. Unfortunately, the automatic system I previously used for distributing the plans is no longer operational due to high costs associated with it. This change has also led to an unfortunate loss of the plans themselves, as they were stored within that system. To add to the troubles, a computer crash resulted in the loss of the original files, leaving me unable to retrieve or resend them. In light of these issues, I am currently investing all my spare time in updating each video and blog post to make it clear that the free plans are no longer available. I've also adjusted the description of this particular video to prevent any future misunderstandings. I'm truly sorry for the disappointment this may cause, and I wish I could offer a more favorable update. Your understanding and support mean a lot to me, and I hope you and your son will still enjoy the content I create. Thank you again for your interest and for reaching out to me. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, please don't hesitate to ask. Warm regards, Chris

Hi there, I’m really sorry to hear that you’ve encountered issues trying to access the plans. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, the automatic system we were using to distribute these plans is no longer available. This has affected the delivery of the plans to your email, and to make matters more complicated, I no longer have access to the original plans due to a loss of data caused by a computer crash. I understand how frustrating this must be, especially after you’ve tried with multiple email addresses. I'm currently in the process of updating the information on all my videos and blog posts to reflect this change and prevent any future confusion. I deeply apologize for the inconvenience and disappointment this may have caused. I’m grateful for your interest and for taking the time to reach out. If there’s any other way I can assist or if you have further questions, please let me know. Thank you for your understanding and support. Best regards, Christophe

Excellent tutorial! Wonderfully straightforward design and implementation. I'm no spring chicken, so lugging 18mm sheets of ply is no walk in the park. Fortunately, I'm not filthy rich, so can't afford enough ply, at today's prices, to break my back, but I'm planning a new shed at the back of the garden this summer, and will be using 8 by 4 sheets of OSB. I like the fact that your jig can be made with minimal tools, glue and screws. It is just a jig after all, so it does not have to be beautifully crafted with complex joinery and the application of gold leaf. Thank you so much for taking the time to share.

Hi there, Thank you for the feedback and the kind words about the video. I’m truly sorry to hear about the trouble you’ve had trying to access the free plan for the jig. I understand how frustrating this must be, especially when you're looking forward to creating something. I want to be transparent about the situation: due to the high costs, I had to discontinue the automatic distribution system I was using for the plans. Additionally, a subsequent computer crash resulted in the loss of many original files, including these plans. This has made it impossible for me to resend or recover them. I'm currently in the process of revising all my video descriptions and blog posts to reflect this and prevent any future confusion. I deeply regret any disappointment or inconvenience this has caused and wish there were a way to rectify the situation immediately. Thank you for bringing this to my attention, and please accept my sincerest apologies for the situation. Your feedback is invaluable, and I’m working hard to ensure a clearer and more accurate communication going forward.
