Just read horror stories about the 2012 N63 online so I checked the carfax on the 1 I was about to buy. It says the car has had the coil packs, fuel injectors, and spark plugs all replaced 3 times in 55,000 miles!!?? Yes 3 times! Battery replaced multiple times. I guess the twin turbos make so much heat that it is destroying the coils, plugs etc. I see why you have a vented hood now. Sad because I really wanted to buy it and it was immaculate all black. No way I will buy 1 now. Maybe the N63TU is more reliable in the 2013s and up.

I had been looking at C6 and C7 Z06 Vets but now I'm thinking about getting a 2012 650I with Xdrive. Everything is black and immaculate for 55,000 miles. Nice to know I can get massive power gains with just down pipes and a plug and play tune. 561hp wheel is plenty for me. Someone is always gonna be faster anyway.

640i seems like the way to go, As long as engine is and gearbox is good it shouldn't be too hard to keep on the road.

Spares from Latvia takes ages to get to the uk. You can’t get spares in the uk. 6 weeks for a basic piece of kit. Don’t order on the run up to Christmas.

I've driven an E46 (2001 330ci 5spd convertible put 365k miles on it) then an E93 (2008 328i 6spd convertible put 300k miles on it. Wanted a 6 series manual but they stopped making them in 2010. I recently bought an F12 (2014 640i convertible). I'm hoping with good maintenance this one will hold up as well as the 3 series have. I avoided the v-8s. I love the ride and drive. If the engine goes...I will LS Swap it.

Re: lack of diy videos - i guess if you can afford to buy and run a 6 series you dont do diy car jobs. Im about to buy a 2015 640D M sport in the UK (alot of car for the money) hoping to do some jobs myself so wish me luck! The diesel has insane torque - most 640s are diesels over here and have a better reliability rating than the petrols.

Regarding DIY videos - aren't F12/F13/F06 basically just F10s with different body? There are lots of F10 DIYs out there.

If you’re burning that much oil your engine needs attention right away! I’ve owned three 640d’s and never had to put oil in any of them. They’re fantastic cars.

And as for weight, the weight information has always been on the door sills. Why did you buy this car in the first place?

When you slide the sun roof control back the first time, it opens the sun room screen. Pushing the sun room control up with pop the sun roof. If you want to open the sun roof, side the cotrol back a second time.

The worst thing i've found is a cabin filter change. 2014 m6 f13 owner. What badge did you put on the back? I think it cheapens up the look of the car.

That's not how you remove and install what you called push pins. Please everyone pull the pin up in the center ten pull them out and to install them back in don't squeeze them. Just push them back in place the push the pins back down to lock them in place. Ripping them out is not the correct way. Once I seen that I was no longer interested in the advice in this video, next
