I am a serious Car Guy, definitely no expert, but very knowledgeable about cars the last 30+ years. The 350 is an entity all its own, the exhaust note is absolutely amazing, kind of a race car esque. The bullet also sounds amazing, but toned down a bit more and more of the classic muscle car sound in my humble opinion. Plus active exhaust, great feature.

My honda accord would not start, I have 940 miles, yes you read that right 940 miles. The system would not read the hey fob and it is currently being serviced for an “electrical problem”. Anyone else experience this?

Compared to the competition, this is terribly overpriced. Wear a blind ford and sit inside a loaded Kia Sportage or a loaded 2023 Hyundai Sante Fe. Many would have difficulty differentiate either from an XT5.

Agree that true, dedicated winter tires are necessary where you get a lot of snow. I had Michelin Crossclimate 2s on my Camry. While we don't get much snow in southwestern Tennessee they were fantastic when it did snow last winter (they don't plow here).

They don't get much better than the Subaru Boxer engine. Maybe some larger engines with worst gas mileage. Boxer has been successful both in passenger vehicles and racing for longer than any other engine in current production or like 45 years. If you notice the Toyota Highlander also went to a turbo 4cyl engine abandoning its straight 6cy. What I am not a fan of is the CVT transmissions. They are fine if you plan to own for 5 or 6 years then change but 100K miles plus not so reliable.

Complaining about rear power window placement is rather petty. Buttons rarely used are often no placed in less accessible spots. Split folding seats make sense to partially expand cargo area with a hatch. It makes little sense here where you don’t get a flat expanded cargo space and hatch cargo space. It would be a distinction without a difference.

Nitpick: There is no such thing as a hybrid engine. It has an Atkinson engine connected to a hybrid transmission. And underlying that nitpick is another, almost universal mistake. Never compare the engine to an electric motor-generator. The MG doesn't *_make_* power like an engine does, it converts the electrical power made by a battery or generator, from electrical power to mechanical power. So the MGs are more properly part of a hybrid's transmission, than something that compares to an engine. But while you gave a very good explanation of the hybrid system, I like mine better. Numbers below will reflect the 2018-2022 version, but they didn't change much. Most of the time, this is an EV. Not a *_Battery_* EV, like a Tesla, but a *_Battery_* *_and_* _Generator*_ EV. It is more properly called a serial hybrid. The disadvantage of a serial hybrid is that it has to convert power twice between electrical and mechanical. The losses in that process are its "transmission losses." But in fact, this transmission can be more efficient than a CVT. Still, when needs are fairly constant - highway cruising - it changes to a parallel hybrid with essentially no transmission losses at all. The way a serial hybrid helps with fuel economy, is seen in that green-and-blue power display. That Atkinson engine is most efficient at 2000 rpm and 88.5 lb-ft of torque, which is about 34 HP. It is 40.6% efficient at this point on the torque curve. Now, the engine in a non-hybrid has to produce the exact amount of power needed by the car. At 55 mph on a flat road in this car, that is about 15 HP. With it best rpm at 15 HP, this engine is only about 37% efficient. (A larger, or non-Atkinson, engine would be less efficient at 15 HP.) So what the serial hybrid will do - as you describe - is run the engine at 34 HP as often as it can, and use that extra 19 HP to self-charge the battery. Then, at a later time it will use that charge either for acceleration, or in EV drive. As a parallel hybrid, between about 40 and 80 mph, it will vary rpm (rpm=mph*37) but still keep efficiency above 40%. And the traction motor will use any extra power to self-charge, instead of the generator. Two more nitpicks: it uses engine drive only in low-power situations. So ma wheel power is determined by that 181 HP motor. But remember, a motor is a transmission, not a power plant. In order to get 181 HP to the wheels, a conventional gas car has to make 212 HP (www.motortrend.com/how-to/modp-1005-drivetrain-power-loss/). And yes, that is where Honda's older hybrids go their "rated" power. And, there is one other situation where the generator will act as a motor. If the battery ever becomes full while using regenerative braking down a long hill, you will lose regen if you don't find another place to dump energy. In this situation, the generator will be used to spin the engine for "engine braking." That surprises some people, when the engine seems to come on while braking downhill.

I’m estimating I’ll be making around 720-750 whp when it’s all said and done… It’s a fun SUV for sure! And I’m still about 10k off the price of a new one!

This model doesn't have a cvt only motors. Great suv, but the major issue is that it doesn't do good mileage for long drives on the highway. Rav4 is much superior for highway driving. Toyota's more efficient hybrid system. But I don't like the rav4 hybrid interior cabin, the engine noise is very annoying.

Look at. Mazda cx50/cx5 turbo or lexus nx350 as 317/ 320 foot pound of torque.i am thinking of replacing my RDX with lexus NX350 or mazda I will do my test drive first your comments stay safe.

The GV60 performance is a sleeper. People will assume they pulled up beside another small SUV, and have no clue about the 483HP, 3 second supercar that will quietly and ferociously blow away pretty much anything AMG or BMW M has to offer. This car is a unicorn, and well worth the price of admission. I'm excited to get mine.
