I first discovered Mae a few days ago on a cross country trip through the outskirts of Vicksburg Mississippi late at night listening to the grand old Opry on SiriusXM Boy did I get an education While I've always liked country western music mainly from the 80s and 90s and I hadn't listened much to the grand old Opry I always thought it was kind of corny-who was the famous woman with the price tag in her hat that always said "howdy" But to hear Mae talk about the song she had written with others and what it meant before she sang was kind of a special moment as I was driving through the darkness And then I learned that the singers there don't even have their own band but it's the studio band from the grand old Opry and they have one practice session where they go through at one time. To hear that band you would've thought they were studio musicians and dialed right in Oh what an education and what a special moment that was So I wish Mae all the success as I'm sure she's been paying her dues

When I retired, I started writing songs. I was inspired by people like Mae on you tube. (real songwriters) When covid hit I started my (low tech) you tube channel Burlington Bill. So glad to see Mae doing well. Her songwriting is a thing of beauty. Burlington Bill busking on the road and on you tube.

KT is 58 years old in this video.... Amazing!!! She didn't even sign her first record deal until she was 45. Some might see that as late in the game. But at the time it meant you have put in yrs. of hard dedication to your craft.
