hate to break it to you, but at least half of gen 7 grew up with gamecubes and ps2s too, ik i did, not everyone could afford to u pgrade to wii/360/ps3 the second it came out. i was on the good ol cube till like 2014 man, and its always been my fav.

Fuck it, I was trying to write a paragraph about how good games were before, but I guess fuck me because of KZbin. Anyways, I just wanted to say games were more unique before because they had more budget with less restrain and less control over them. Developers could do almost anything they wanted and it was majestic. Now, we still get good games, but we lost the freedom developers had before and that’s what I feel hurt the gaming industry. Now it’s all about making the hugest game without making the gamer question or lose the want to play the game and that’s sorrowful. Yes, some games released now are good, but I still urge for a game that will make me want to explore the world completely and find unique things that were only designed for people that wanted to search more and find more without the game telling them to do it.

Part 02: I’ve been playing FF7 Rebirth and it’s been a pleasure, I’ve had fun discovering all the old places and seeing them in a new light and everything, but there’s still a piece of me that yearns for the old style of gaming where things weren’t shown to you, they were there and if you wanted to find them, you had to explore and do things to find them. Now, I feel like everything is shown to you, there’s nothing that you have to work for, they just show you with little effort and that’s what makes me feel like we lost something in between generations. The sense of exploration and wonder.

Man I liked Nero since the beginning. DMC4 was the start of my journey as a Devil Hunter, so he was the first character I was introduced to. His SWORD can be rev'ed like a MOTORCYCLE!!! And he RODE his sword ON A DEMON with it. That just made me stand Nero every time ever since

I hsould say although cdevil breaker clips helps new players first i would argue it gets the player thinking about longterm resource management anr thats something the game shouldnt saddle on you and nero with a style switcher (with mods) for breakers is a lot more fun

Airbone nero is pretty meh to me tbh. He has 2 air combos. A nice somehwat hitting backforward attack and the forward attacks brings you down. Honestly i really wish the devil bringers could be switched. I understand not right away. But just allow us to unlock the option to switch devil breakers if we beat son of sparda like full custom for dante

Nero can combo and chain all his air specials with gun shots, jump cancels, and devil bringer punches. Even his downward dives like the forward and back attack can be jump cancelled to keep airborne. Do it fast enough and you prevent the opponent from getting knocked down too. He doesn't have Dante's freedom (cause duh) but he definitely has a lot more freedom for air combos than Vergil.

@@Capta1nTD I know about the bump cancelling for the forward thrust which is why I mentioned it but the guns and punch doesnt do much for me honestly since they do no damage unless charge the bullets. I do like that the punch keeps them from moving though

Nero is fun to use if you actually pay attention to his move set. Since he has less inputs than Dante, it makes it easier to refine the moves. Great video!

Kinda wish that they made us choose 3 or 4 max devil breakers per mission, but they don't break and we can switch between them like dantes styles. the arm break button, LB would be the devil trigger just like all the other characters in the game. there would be like a battery or super bar that you use for devil breaker ults. I've seen lots of people just go not using the devil breakers because of how fragile they are and not use ults to not break them. the breakers could just get disabled temporarly if hit when using. it'd be simple and beginner friendly while letting experts pull out amazing combos

Well now I don't feel so bad for favouring Nero. Came in off the heels of finishing MGR on V.Hard expecting to have a Bad Time(tm) but only started struggling when the game handed me Dante and took off the kid gloves. Made sure to play on Devil Hunter, too. Didn't have the heart to do a proper second playthrough, Vergil handed my ass to me enough when I was using Dante that I was more than content putting down the controller after Nero's victory lap. On a related note, Royal Guard is broken.

As someone that has been playing Dante in BP to get better, cavalier has been helping me out a lot as for vergil being op: yes but he comes at a cost, and not just being dlc. To keep up his concentration meter, you have to play a little more strict than dante or nero. Getting hit, spamming attacks, running around during combat, and playing overall sloppy will reduce it. Yes he’s strong, but he requires you to be more conscious about what you’re doing to maximize him

I love nero, both as a character and from a techbical point. DMC 5 is my first devil may cry game, and ill be honesnt, dante's 4 styles,different melee and gun weapons all being tied to one button for the styles and weapons of the associated styles along side just basic mechanics made it difficult to learn. but nero. i could ignore the rev, focus on chargine just the gun, and the devil breakers had their own button and not an entire movelist of moves so even if i didnt know what devil breaker i had, i know it would still do something to the enemy right in front of me. this allowed me to learn all of his mechanics at my own pace without feeling like it was overwhelming

I wasn’t a big fan of Nero in the fourth game, but I think mostly for unfair reasons of worrying that they’d replace Dante. You’re right though, he’s the perfect way to get used to the combat system without Dante’s intimidating repertoire. I learned to love Nero. DMC5 does so much right. Great video!

Nero is the only character in the game that doesn't have any reliable damage he's horrible for beginners he can't even heal before you beat the game on top of being the only character the only has one dodge an you have to upgrade it to get it to the point of other characters based dodge and on top of all that he has no variety I honestly hope they remove him from the franchise at this point the guy is dead weight through and through

That’s the point. There’s no reason for him to have Dante or Vergil level combos that keep an SSS for 5 mins. Also, Human and Devil Hunter are ridiculously easy so who cares. That’s why they give you his DT abilities and Recovery Provocation after you beat the game. It’s to make his levels on harder difficulties easier.

He’s supposed to be a middle ground between Vergil and Dante Vergil: Simple, but effective, however he’s more strict than the other characters, having a penalty for missing attacks, getting hit, or running around in a fight. You have to have a lot of spatial awareness to maximize him. Dante: Stylish. Fucking. CHAOS. Massive moveset, 4 fighting styles, 2 transformations, dante is a massive amount to learn, and requires a lot of time in the lab if you wanna get good at him. Nero is the middle ground, a little more difficult to use compared to Vergil, but much less complex than Dante. His devil breakers give him a large variety, but they’re not too complex. Once you beat the game once he becomes stronger, and can heal, it’s highkey just a skill issue

"doesn't have any reliable damage" > breakage Punchline/Buster Arm/Rag Time into Showdown & Maximum Bet, stacking breakage overture, counter grappling boss. "he can't even heal before you beat the game" > if you need to rely on DT to survive in the first playthrough, i think that's a you problem. "has one dodge and you have to upgrade" > and? seriously what's the problem with basic dodge(and jump) before upgrade to table hopper? it's not like those are his only defensive option in DMC5. Gerbera, 5DT, Shuffle back dash, hold enemy to use as a shield, detonate devil breaker, Blue Rose stagger "on top of all that he has no variety" > sounds like you don't have creativity for yourself.

Get better. I believe in you. Edit: You can beat Urizen in Prologue and Mission 8. WITHOUT DT. With proper attention and exceeds, you can do it. It’s all a matter of skill. Reload your blue rose, think about when to use your bringers. Everything these characters have are important.

FINALLY! Someone else who caught the Ice Worm/Dune reference & the Enforcer/Dark Souls reference. I literally thought I was the ONLY one. Balteus was never difficult. I literally took a break before fighting him on my 1st playthrough to go in with a clear head & prepare myself for a tough fight. 6 tries & he was beat. I no longer trusted the community about anything & refuse to update the game since I don't want an easy boss easier. In no way shape or form was he a filter making you change your buid. You are WAY OFF about Ayre. WAY OFF!

Ibis was my favorite fight, it was the one fight I couldn’t just tank leg mini gun to death. I still haven’t quite found my build for this fight but I hope to because it truly is fun. All mind Iguazu is only hard because of sheer numbers, I tank mini gunned and needle launched each down one by one on my 2nd attempt.

The sea spider gave me a close amount of death counts as Baller Tay Us. Took me a long time to figure out that more armor was not the answer. Built a pure snider build and ripped them both apart using duel sweet sixteen, laser slicer, and split missile launcher.

Why is it the “best generation” because the generation that grew up with the internet grew up with the xbox GameCube and ps2. The GameCube is overrated as hell idc I grew during that generation but I would rather play most other Nintendo consoles over it. The Xbox started online gaming in a big way and had halo other than that mostly it didn’t do much. The ps2 is goated and one of the best gaming consoles but the other 2 and the Dreamcast ain’t doing nothing

Hahah you are on point when it comes to the graphical leap in going from 5th to 6th gen... I remember the one thing that stood out to be the most was just how... SMOOTH everything was able to look. When I think back to the N64 and PS1 era, I think of sharp edges, jagged edges, 3D blocks and pyramids and stuff... When the 6th generation came out, I immediately noticed how much less of that roughness was present. Pretty much like your example of MGS1 Solid Snake and MGS3 Big Boss, characters now were much more expressive, expressions could be SUBTLE. There was a lot more detail, and everything just... generally speaking, looked more appealing from an aesthetic standpoint. I think the one game that absolutely, 100% blew me away... was REmake. You put the game next to the original and they're just worlds apart in terms of graphical fidelity.

Idk how to tell you this but zoomers grew up WITH this generation of consoles. The oldest zoomer is 27
