I'm curious... when you sell an item sich as that Garmin - with no way to test it - do you simply state "untested"? Doesnt that attract scammers, who may want to open a return, send you a broken one and keep yours?

This is because goodwill isn’t a charity, is a company. Companies want to make money. Donate to your local church or Salvation Army instead.

back in the 90's goodwill used to be affordable & fun to shop there. but now they sell over price stuff that is broking or missing parts.

Great video but have you tried to sell higher end items on eBay? Little items are too much headache and hustling. I sold over $180k on eBay the last 10 years. All my items are over $50 and profit at 60-65% after eBay fees, shipping and all my costs. Good luck!!

to be fair if youtubers are going to make channels based on shopping at stores like goodwill where you buy items only to resell 10x 20x even more then what you paid for it yeah these stores are going to notice that dumb dumb your the reason they increase their prices why would they watch you go viral selling their stuff making 100x the profit when they can sell it at your asking prices and make it themselves seriously be real why is anyone not shocked they would increase their prices its fukn buisness morons who wouldnt increase their prices if your customers are youtubers shouting to the heavens saying look at all they money you couldve made haha

The only reason the prices go up is because people like you just go there to buy things to resell and make profit. Goodwill is meant to help people who dont have alot of money and dont mind purchasing second hand items to help there lifes.

my guy, go into the trades....hvac techs and plumbers are killing it. 200+ just for us to show up when you have a problem. Your a problem solver...become an hvac technician. Just go look up a company and beg for a job. Youll learn on the job quickly. In 5 years go off on your own and work for yourself. Everyday will be a matter of how much money you feel like making. Eventually calls come in for a easy 1500 for 1 hour of work but you wont feel like it, you can afford to turn it down...your time is valuable. Dont Waste your youth, acquire skills, become an expert at something. Maybe your e bay business will take off....more likely youll work way too hard for way too little profit. Invest in yourself. Your only young once.

I definitely agree with you 100%. I’m 48 now and self employed since 24. Yeah there will be some tough yrs like 08-12 but overall worth… 2000-2009 I was a stucco supplier and killed it from 03-07 but in 09 I lost everything. I went into services (garage door tech and installation) and now I’m averaging $100-120k per year profit.

@wethepeople7629 I felt like a jerk after writing that, but hearing your story too makes me believe it might have been worth it, in saving him from a factory job. I spent too much time when I was younger, chasing dreams that just didn't have a high enough likelyhood of being financially successful. I could have been further than what I am had a focused on a trade sooner. If this guy posted this style content of his daily routine as a plumber (or any trade) he'd build a brand and kill it.

Not only have the prices gone up here where Im at, the Goodwills around me have also decided that any video games, video game accessories, consoles etc will no longer go on the shelves at their store. They are to be immediately sent to their online store for auction. They also are doing the same thing for any items with a high value. So if they come across a $200 camera, it will not be put on their shelves for sale and instead, sent directly to their online store. They are also starting to do that with high end brand clothes. Their shelves are starting to look like broken left over crap no one wants.
