That video was so helpful I am partially cited in both eyes and I really struggle with visual activities and sewing and crocheting and so on so this video really helped me as you added a lot of description and you don’t need to fix anything as your skill in describing what you are doing at the same time as you’re doing it is perfect

I have seen your video several times and you keep telling people to look and see and we are vision impaired, so that is extremely difficult. We leave comments for a reason.

Hi, I'm a sighted person and was asked if I would be willing to teach a blind or visually impaired person how to crochet. I really want to help her but it is a new area for me. I'm depending on your videos to guide me. My first challenge is that I'm right handed and she is left handed. I thought it might work if she sits facing me, with her hands placed on mine, to 'see' what I'm saying. Please advise me. Also, I'll direct her to your videos and perhaps just assist when needed. I really do not want to mess-up this opportunity. Thanks. Adele

I know the treble crochet as follows: yarn over twice an insert through the Stitch. Yarn over pull through the stitch on the hook. Yarn over pull through two loops on the hook. Yarn over again pull through two loops on the hook. Yarn over a final time and pull through two loops on the hook. You are left with one loop on the hook. I think my account is one off because I am not counting the most recent yarn over as that is what I am pulling through the loops. It seems like it's the same thing just said in a different way. Love these videos. I just have to keep in mind that the verbal instructions are a little different than what I'm used to hearing. 💜

A friend has crochet videos and she is right handed but used a feature to reverse the video tutorial to display for left-handers. Her YT channel name is Bethintx1 [Beth in Texas 1]. I was over 60 when I finally learned to do basic crochet and her methods were best for me. Since then I have lost most of my vision so other priorities have led me to put creative arts aside. I applaud you for doing YT videos to help others.

I swear by the Susan Bates hooks. I started out with Boye hooks, but then my great aunt, one of you friends and my mom have all gotten me multiple sets of Susan Bates hooks. The Susan Bates hook set that I have has a case that came with it. I organize my hooks the smallest to largest, organized from the left side of the case to the right side, which has the largest. Susan Bates hooks also ha; a nice even design, and that really helps me to have even tension. The hook does most of the tension work for me, which I find easier for me. I love your videos.

Danielle, I love the idea of putting abl of your crochet suplies in a makeup bag. I have a crochet hook set from Susan Bates that comes with a case. I organize the hooks starting from the left where the smallest size is, and then going bigger in size as I go to the right. I like Susan Bates hooks because the hook has an even design. I also have sensory processing disorder, ' and one of the ways it manifests for me is I have a hard time accurately judging how much pressure to put on things. In crochet terminology, I have a hard time with tension on the yarn, so the Susan Bates hook does most of that work for me because it is an even designs. I find all the neat textures of yarn and the stitches they produce really satisfying too. You should go sheck out Fiber Flux's KZbin channel. She is wonderful at describing things, just as you are. Keep up the awesome videos. :)

HEY, Danielle. I am a blind crocheter, and I just stumbled across your channel. I follow many other crocheters on KZbin, and I am proud to say that now, you are one of them. :) I have been crocheting for ten years now, and I love doing it. It is so relaxing and fun. I love spreading this craft to others and have taught some of my blind friends to crochet as well. I also give projects that I have made to friends and family, and my mom gifts many of my projects to vision teachers that she supervises. Keep the awesome videos coming! Discovering your channel made my day and put the biggest smile on my face!

Would the chain stitch that you mentioned at the end of a row be called a turning chain? Or is that something else?

I do it where you pinch the tail between your thumb and forefinger. Wrap it twice around your index finger. Grab the hoop closest to your knuckle, and pull itover the one nearest to your fingertip. Then pull the one that was nearest your fingertip over the one that was nearest to your knuckle to where it comes over the tip of your finger to the underside of it, but so that the other one remains on the top of your finger. And then pull on the tail and the working yarn to form your slipknot around your finger. And then slide it off and then put it around your hook. Plus one other way.

If your doing this for beginners as well visually impaired slow down. You showed few stitches slow. If you have something important to say that's not about actual stitch you are demonstrating then stop stitching for that moment. Otherwise turn video off or pause finish row then turn camera back on when ready to talk or demo again. Hope this helps

Hello fello blind crochet sister. Laine sent me your way. I have the Unseen Strands youtube channel but I watch videos here under this acct instead. I so enjoy what you have started here. I have started diving more into accessibility on my channel but overall your doing a much better job of it than I ever could I have not found a lot better success rate on apps and their accessability on android I am curious on how you organize your stash. I have recently gotten into the way around tagging system, and it is such a blessing in my life so far, but I'm always curious to what others are doing

Well hello stitching sister! ☺️ I’m loving your videos! I wish I could make socks! So far, I just organize by color but I’d like to rethink that. I’ve got a wall of storage bins to keep it all separate. I kind of want to try the pen friend one of these days.
