Another fun fact is that plastic when entered into the body over time creates artificial estrogen that your body interprets as actual estorgen. This can cause many cancers especially in women and is thought to be the leading cause of decreasing testosterone in men other than birth control chemicals in water. yikes

Whoever that therapist is that was talking about their patients telling them that wanted to harm themselves and how most would go to the hospital willingly and others who leave kicking and screaming or trying to run and get caught but they haven't had one leave without saying anything and hurting themselves yet they feel bad about it shouldn't feel bad at all. They must be a pretty good therapist or at least a good person because the fact that they have had patients tell them that instead of doing it means their patients must trust them a lot.

the thing about kids being sociopaths is that its a lie and i hate that people try to spread the idea that human nature is to be selfish! many studies have been done that show that 18-month-olds WILL try to aid an adult in a task without being prompted if they are able to do so, and these are children who are not old enough to recieve significant verbal feedback from their parents. in huge disasters, people don’t trample each other trying to escape, but order and connection always prevails. after 9/11, and the fukushima disasters, people overwhelmingly tried to help each other survive. hell, the whole argument falls apart when you consider the fact that we’re a social species and we wouldn’t be successful at all if selfishness was the default for everyone, the much more likely explanation is that selfishness is a behavior that you pick up and strengthen when doing selfish acts that you don’t experience consequences for, and this is just much easier to teach to children because they are blank slates who will copy everyone around them to form their personalities.

4:41 there is, to a mild extent. When I was a gymnast I was trained to ignore the pain and the "stop! Something is wrong!" response when stretching and training with injuries. But it was not sustainable, and it caused long term injuries.

For me, I have a pet theory with zero research and all just anecdotal observations. My theory is the human mind isn't meant to be comfortable. Throughout all of history, humans have struggled to survive. Whether it's beaving the elements, competing with wildlife, or lack of resources. In first world countries humans live very comfortably, even the most destitute has better access to essentials than the average person just 100 years ago. With how comfortable we are, I believe our minds create struggles for us to conquer. I think this struggle takes the form of depression. With the simpler, yet deadlier, times before us people didn't really have time to think about anything except their survival. It was constant work and struggle for a daily meal.

How do you explain things like coincidences, being at the right spot at the right time. I was going through a break and I decided to quit weed so I gave away all my vape pens brand new ones. I never quit. Months later I'm hanging out with my friend and some guy pulls and he's like hey you want this and gives us an 8th of weed and a piece to smoke out of. Is it God? Luck? The Universe? Coincidence??

“The rest of your post is also garbage” is the exact response I would expect to come from someone possessed by a Cheeto dust tainted fedora the clings to the shadows in their mothers basement. That kind of rude, snarky behavior does nothing to educate others. It doesn’t even matter if they’re right at that point, because their inability to speak to another human causes them to lose their audience.
