@@pablojimenezcavallar2594 Python is not a language that can be used with A-B PLC like the supported IEC plc programming languages There is a module that you can use for high level language I believe it uses c# but i don’t believe you can use it with L55.

Yes, or you can just have 8 scaling functions too, and in some hardware the channel scaling can be done right at the channel configuration itself without need of any logic.. in summary yes you can do it exactly as you described but also there are other ways as well.

@@arcautomationconsultingltd6951 maybe i shall describe in detail. Example: I have 8 individual actual speed tag which uses same formula to get the offset speed: Y rpm= actual speed tag - 100rpm.. Y is the result of actual speed tag -100 rpm. Since each individual actual speed tag is using same formula (Y rpm = actual speed - 100rpm), can i write a functional call to be shared by these 8 actual speeds tag?

@@entertainmentjoke2871 yes you can. Again there are different ways to accomplish what you are trying to achieve. One way is you would pass your speed tags as a parameter to your formula and get the result in output.

Thank you for watching and continuous support and here are the answers to your questions 1) If a UDT is used in your program than the only thing you can do while online with the PLC is to modify the members name and description, you can't add or remove members of that UDT, unless there is no tag in your program using that data type ( your UDT). If you would like to add/remove a new member, you could copy while online with the PLC the existing UDT and create a new one than add/remove new member(s) ..etc. and then you would create a new tags based on this new data type ( new UDT) and then you would start replacing the existing tags that using the old UDT with the new tags that's using the new UDT in your logic, as you see it is already a very tricky and complex process, especially if you are dealing with large facilities programs.. personally I won't recommend it but it is an option 2) Yes, if you start playing around with UDT online you may encounter some serious faults, and I believe the known ones are corrected in later firmware My recommendation, is to do your modification offline, and test it thoroughly and deploy it to the actual system when it is possible.

If you don’t know the IP address you simply go online with plc via USB or serial port and you would know the IP address. But keep in mind that for the 5380, 5480 or 5580 plc series the ip is displayed and for 5570 series the ip will be displayed by the Ethernet module and for those that doesn’t display it like the 5370 series than one way is to use the method described above.

Example: 1) introduction to AB: what kind of plc, difference, etc 2) licenses required, how to get it, validity, activation, etc. 3) explanation on the AB architecture configuration. (Siemens involves netpro, etc) 4) Each of the button function in Studio/rxlogix progtamming. Example: what file, menu, etc. 5) best programming method for AB. How to utilize call function in ladder, how to do loop, etc. Just asking. If dont have, it is ok. I will try to dig around. 😀
