This is THE best video on hop up buckings ! Liked & subscribed instantly. Thank you ! I recently bought a stock SSG10 (A1) and I'm not happy about the grouping. My shooting will be at 25 yards and I'm chasing the best accuracy at that range. It's the 5 J version, and I'm shooting 0.49 g BBs. I'd like to install on this STOCK SSG10 a Maple Leaf in diamond shape (whether this will be a Monster or Autobot) and an "Omega" nub (the concave one). Will this work without too much diy work, or will it even be a drop in ? I don't play games, but shooting in my back yard. Do you recommend a 70 degrees bucking of this type, or a 60? or even a 50? The rifle is shooting hard at 5 J and I'm using 0.49 g BBs, but a very low number. So will a 50 (or even 60) degrees bucking be worn out fast or even disintegrated with this setup? Thanks so much for your advices ! Later edit: I have in mind getting a TDC 2.0 (hop up adjuster). Installing this device, how this will modify the answer? will it be compatible with all the above?

Hi, this is a really good video, but I'd like you to explain to me that I did everything as you said, but it doesn't work on my sniper vsr10 and I'd like you to make an explanatory video on how to put everything and in which direction to turn the hopup that doesn't fire towards the floor, thanks champion

Hi, I know this is an old video, but it was very helpful, thank you! I had a question regarding the hardness of the bucking. You recommend 60°, but I think it could also depend on the power of the rifle. My airsoft field allows 3.5J snipers, so that's what I'm aiming at (no pun intended). Is 60° still gonna perform well and last more than a few shots?

I have had severe feed issues using these with my Cyma/FN/Cybergun P90. Upgrading the hop-up and barrel only made things worse. The bucking just sticks too far into the chamber, and blocks feeding. Really a shame, as they are a great design.

First very informative video ! Question I have a gbb mk18 it’s WA based system and I upgraded my hop up chamber and inner barrel which is vsr no bridge but the hop up unit came with a Tokyo Marui rubber that looks like a maple leaf rubber just dimensions not the patch on the inside but basically it doesn’t have the extra material on the outside it completely smoothe but it’s definitely not an aeg rubber . I have a pdi W hold rubber I want to install but idk if it ok to remove that extra material so it will fit in the chamber . The fact that I have a vsr open window cut barrel I was under the assumption I could use the pdi without any modifications. I’m just curious if it is possible to remove that extra material on the outside so it smooth all the way around like the TM rubber that came with the unit ?? Any help is greatly appreciated

bbs are different sizes, just like the barrel o.01mm bbs also have minute differences. I think anything that creates a lift even if it corrects at some point is pointless. Air guns do not use a hop up. So increase power and use lesser power close range. Straight flight path and of course it will drop at the end but something that goes up and and then straight means there is a whole area that you have no idea where it will hit. To be honest I love modifications but there are too many variable and when it is this fiddly it will drive me mad. But I know when i go from plinking to the field I am definently going to want range on low power, but I really want a straight trajectory, and consistency is dangerous if it is lacking. Imagine you test and its fine and then it increasrs and you hurt someone. same with accuracy if its off target due to spin then you could hit someone with a sniper who is close range

I watched your video and it helped me a lot to understand what's going on a barrel and a hop up unit. Thanks ! About the part on the wobble, I agree and disagree with you. I agree with you because if two bb's get out of two barrels with the same velocity, backspin and weight, they will have the same range. So, I disagree with you when you say that no matter how many times it wobble in the barrel as long as theses parameters afformentioned are the same, the range will be the same. From my point of view each time the bb hit the barrel, the backspin will lose some velocity so the Magnus effect will stay less longer out of the barrel. So the less wobbling, the less backspin decrease, the more range. As I write this i understand why I'm wrong: because if you have more wobble of the bb's in the barrel and that you have less Magnus effect, you adjust the hop up unit to give it more backspin at the beggining so the backspin at the end of the barrel is the same as one with less wobbling. Thanks to myself for this interesting discussion.

Cylinder/loop ratio = 3:1. Loop zelf is 6.01 mm. De velden laten enkel Bio's toe en het liefst zou ik voor wit willen gaan. Any ideas? (novritsch, geoff's,...)

VERY well done vid! I like your style of explaining how/why things happen. I'm new to airsoft; grew up with firearms, and did quite a bit of regular shooting on evenings and weekends (Phoenix) before moving to where I now reside (overseas), and where firearms ownership (including pellet air-rifles and air-soft guns) is incredibly restricted. So a few years ago, needing a pest control implement, I got an M24 Snow Wolf and started getting into airsoft. Culled some invasive groups of pigeons (ongoing) and get the occasional rat, so my concerns are mostly the FPS (yep!) and accuracy, usually within 30 meters. I'm looking to upgrade (in order) the barrel and hop-up, and then the cylinder, then the trigger assembly (I just replaced the whole trigger-box...smh...), and finally the spring. So before I start, I'm reviewing/saving LOTS of airsoft repair- and upgrade-vids. Seeing experienced folks, like you and a few others I've viewed lately, manipulate parts as they explain the function or the problem that is the topic, or, as you did, use graphic illustration to not only explain the function of, but also how to fabricate, parts, and to explain the effects of friction/contact/spin on trajectory, etc., really helps me grasp the 'mechanics' not only of the weapon (and all the similarities/variations in the different models) but of how the design actually incorporates and allows for the adjustment of that spin to create the desired trajectory. It makes my heart sink a bit as I shoot at my home-made target rack at 25 meters, and can actually see the BB start to drop. I'd like to get the FPS up to about 620+ and see how it goes. Thanks so much for creating and sharing such a clear, and easy -to-comprehend vid!

Accuracy = Distance "Once BB exits the barrel the trajectory is already set." Trajectory is manipulated by the quality of the barrel and hop-up. That's the point of quality control mate! More backspin, Less wobble, etc. inside the barrel = less once the bb exits the barrel.

IMHO it is _very_ tricky to get the older PDI hop-up units working just right. I still ended up with a right hook in an upgraded Maruzen Type 96 clone. You almost have to start all over again setting the unit up when you change BB weight. Having two hop adjustment arms _sounds_ great but it's a pain.
