nothing to do with this game really but I do my own football league like a fantasy football if you like. I introduce prem / league 123 my own little league called the jcb league. / my own cup competitions I do this all on paper. and keep records and notes of all the teams. example relegations :/ promotions / cup winners. / runners up etc. I’ve been doing this for years and enjoy it ( is there anyone out there who runs. their own football league ) ? I would like to know

This is not football !!! ....... Its boring and ridiculous ... This is not the way the creator of the game played it ... Play a game without that stupid defensive flick every click & see how much better it is .

This whole "shooting line" defensive wall mode of subbuteo just robs the game of all dynamism and creativity. I've seen match video of subbuteo played using real football formations, setting up of passing lanes and triangles, battles for midfield possession, flexible zone defence, and back-and-forth possession in a full field open game. This limits all the gameplay into struggles to outflank the defensive wall and leaves most of the figures uninvolved in a mostly empty field. Oh, and BTW, the shot-on-goal attempt at 17.10 is being made with a figure which is very clearly in an offsides position, which is supposed to be illegal under the subbuteo rules the same as in real-world football.
@cliffordgraaff39458 жыл бұрын
+LordZontar How can the shot on goal in 17:10 be made from an off-sides position??? The off-sides law states that you are only off-sides if you or the ball are closer to your opponents goal line than the second last defender. The shot in question is clearly made by a player BEHIND the ball - therefore NO OFF-SIDES.
@LordZontar8 жыл бұрын
According to the Subbuteo handbook I've got, Rule 15.1: "An attacker is in the offside position when it is closer to the opposite goal line than the ball and (15.1.1) it is inside the opposite shooting area, (15.1.2) there are not two defenders closer than it to the goal line (or a defender and the goalkeeper)." And that's also according to the FISTF handbook I've got (pg. 51). Now, from the angle I'm viewing, I don't see any defending figure between the striker and the goalkeeper. Neither is the striker on the shooting line, which marks the difference between an onside and offside position. From my point of view, that's offsides.
@runnymederangers6 жыл бұрын
Agreed. I play with normal formations and game is much more open and realistic. Change of rules required methinks!
@ecz19675 жыл бұрын
@@LordZontar of course no offside as the pass was a throw-in
@LordZontar5 жыл бұрын
@@ecz1967 Alright, after looking at the video again, I see there wasn't an offsides --- but NOT because the pass was a throw-in. That had already been accomplished as well as a pass. The attacking player flicks in a second figure standing on the very corner of the shooting line but there is at least one defender behind the line altogether (on the penalty spot), so that means no offside condition in effect.

@vidbeppe7 жыл бұрын
It says so because that's a Subbuteo Astropitch cloth made in the late '70s/early '80s.And that is the only subbuteo stuff you can find in this video....teams and rules are from table soccer (that is quite different from subbuteo), period.I'm sorry if i'mstraight but it's a matter of fact.

This is my favorite angle for subbuteo videos. I can see all the angles clearly without the usual player/ref obstruction of the floor camera angle. It's also a great way to better understand each player's decision making on attack and defense. Oh, and by the way, these guys are phenomenal!

When I was 10 we got a Subbuteo. With my brother, cousin and friends, we really tried to learn to play this game. It was intolerable. We never managed to control the players enough so that we could actually play. And most maneuvers in the manual were rather trickshot for the masters.
@Harm104129 жыл бұрын
***** My compassion. On the bright side: At least they played with you. I got it around that age and neither my brother nor my dad played it with me. And I had to put the playing mat onto the carpet (no attachment). That really sucked... ;-)

@errorisdei98810 жыл бұрын

in the professional tv arena, the shot from above is a key onebut it needs a similar treatment to snooker with added dynamics. In plain terms, covered by multiple angles with a director editing in real time or afterwards. One day it will happen. I think from a visual perspective the top view is best to understand tactics but it needs to clearly distinguishable coloured bases for it to work best.
