Thank you! No, just be sure to use some rubbing alcohol on glass before you paint. It removes dirt, dust & bodily oils so the paint adheres. Also, I apologize for the delayed response. I've been "off the grid" for awhile. 😊🎨

Oh! I just saw a comment on baking your glasses lol how long and what temp please. Greetings from Australia 🇦🇺
@paintthis Жыл бұрын
Hi Carolyn! Thanks for watching! I follow the instructions on the FolkArt multi-surface acrylic label: "Set oven temperature to 350ºF. Once temperature has reached 350ºF, allow the project to bake for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, turn the oven off and let glass cool down completely before removing from the oven. Do not use for 72 hours." I place the glasses on a cookie tray & bake a bunch at a time. I hope this helps!

Do you seal your paint on the glasses so it doesn’t chip off?
@revilo727 Жыл бұрын
Why does my paint look translucent on the glass? I’m putting a lot of paint in my brush.

What brand of paint are you using? FolkArt Multi-surface acrylics are what I use. They also make enamel paint, specifically for glass painting.

Hello very nice. How do you fix the painting ?
@paintthis Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! FolkArt Acrylics have a built-in sealer. You can bake the painted glassware according to the label or it will cure on its own in 2-3 weeks. I hope that answers your question. Thanks for watching! 🙂🎨

Hi. What do you use to seal the painting on glass please
@paintthis Жыл бұрын
FolkArt Multi-surface Acrylics have a built-in sealer. You can bake your glass items in the oven following the instructions on the label or let it cure on its own for a few weeks. It's supposedly dishwasher safe (top shelf only), but I feel that if it's hand painted, you should hand wash it. I hope this answers your question. Thanks so much for watching! 🎨🙂

Can I ask do you need to seal the painting?
@paintthis Жыл бұрын
FolkArt Multi-surface acrylics have a built-in sealer. You can bake your glass project (according to the label) after 24 hours to cure it quickly or you can let it sit for a few weeks & it will cure on its own. I advise my customers to wash by hand, eventhough it's supposed to be dishwasher safe (top shelf only). I hope this answers your question. Thanks for watching! 😊

@@jmcgilvary folk art multi purpose paint. You can also use regular acrylics. Highly recommend drying them in the oven after a 24 hour dry of paints... 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Then the paint won't rub off.

Yes, I find that FolkArt multi-surface acrylics work the best! The instructions to cure the paint is on the label: "Set oven temperature to 350ºF. Once temperature has reached 350ºF, allow the project to bake for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, turn the oven off and let glass cool down completely before removing from the oven.
