We never get to choose how we are remembered, or even if we are remembered. Essra Mohawk was a singer & songwriter for nearly 60 years. She recorded a dozen albums and wrote songs for other artists. Hopefully it pleased her to know that generations of American children (and grown-up children) would remember her primarily from her contributions to Schoolhouse Rock. RIP Essra Mohawk. Thank you for the happy memories you gave so many of us. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Essra_Mohawk

MAN! It was the 1970's when I was watching Schoolhouse Rock on Saturdays. I was seven, now I'm almost sixty. WOW! Time flies!

This reminds me of when Howard Stern was on David Letterman. Howard just talked over him and wouldn't let Dave ask him a question. I like Dave, both classic Dave and modern Dave, but this is annoying.

I dont like how in schools they are teaching that america isn't a melting pot (because its racist or something), and instead its a great salad. America isn't a salad of vegetables that stay separate and dont mix. We are the great melting pot. Where the world comes together to adopt American customs and values while also bringing their language and culture. The idea that Immigrants who move to America assimilate into Americans while also bringing something important from their home country. America isn't a country for mexicans, Pakistanis, or Brit-Bongers to live in. Instead, it's a country of mexican-americans, english-americans, and muslim-Americans. The most important word is Americans.

Great episode. I remember it from when I was a kid. I see now the animation is a little euro centric but I have to say the message is very current. I feel that a lot of current politicians and voters could do with seeing it and taking the message to heart. Here's another look at it... a single item be it wood or metal has weaknesses. An alloy, a blend of materials, is much stronger. Just a thought. Peace.

JD vance, Marjorie Taylor greene, Lauren boebert, Donald trump, will all make sure videos like this will never make it into public schools. White Christian nationalism is the new if you don't like it, you don't get a seat at the table of the American delicatessen.

The melting pot play was created by a Jew named Israel Zangwill. We should also make the state of Israel a melting pot inter marriages of different races and religion should be all over the world. Let’s make Israel more diverse ❤️ 🩷🤎🖤 🇮🇱

RIP James Earl Jones and Marlon Brando. And for the record, George Norman Rockwell sounds like many MAGA supporters. He's indistinguishable from Charlie Kirk, Nick Fuentes or Crowder. SSDD.

I love how this airing preserved the original "schoolhouse Rock!" intro, rather than the slower and more elaborate one used in the DVD set. THIS is what me and my fellow Gen Xer's remember.
