These were the sorts of huddled masses we used to allow in, honest hard workers who came here to be AMERICAN! They brought the best of what they had and left the broken and useless behind, they made us better and became part of us. This is what we need to get back to. Close the border, screen those who come in, encourage immigration that integrated people into American culture and focuses on people who want to live here with their families full time, not seasonal workers or temporary work or education green cards. Come here, become a citizen, work hard, be an American, and I will embrace you as my fellow countryman.

They didn't walk right in and make themselves at home. They went through ports of immigration like Ellis Island. We take in over a million immigrants a year through the system. All we ask is that everyone use the same system we have always used, and still use. You wouldn't allow strangers to enter your home by the back door, no matter how welcoming you are. You would have them come through the front door so you could meet them and see who they are. If you are at the very back of the line nothing gives you the right to sneak in. America is the greatest country, because we are every country. We speak every language in the world. The shade of our skin is a mix of pigments from all over the world. Everyone is allowed to come here. You just can't sneak through and expect to get away with it. You also can't complain when you get caught you have to pay the price for breaking the law and having to deal with the consequences.
