Moses didn't reference Abram's one-time submission to Melchizedek when setting up systematic tithing under Mosaic Law and today's version of "tithing" has no biblical precedent. Only consumable items were identified as a systematic (required) tithe deliverable in the Bible although it's evident money was widely traded and wages were earned during those times. We are free to give, not bound to pay.

@Markb7067, Most of their economy in those days were in primary produce and so it makes sense to make tithes of those items. But in Deuteronomy 14:24-25 They had the option of converting their tithe items of primary produce into money to facilitate their journey to the designated location God has chosen for them to gather and celebrate the feast of their tithes as they wished. If God permitted the people under the Mosaic Law to choose this option, it implies if we tithe money, it's not out of order, because money is a distillation of our energy and efforts just as the primary produce were back then. When we tithe money, it still represents our heart's attitude of giving and being generous in response to and recognition of God's blessings in our lives. It is not about paying.

Abram's submission to Melchizedek was the first mention of a tithe in the Bible as an offering. Biblical, systematic (required) tithing began and ended under Mosaic Law.
@charleszuta9605 Жыл бұрын
@Markb7067. You are right on both terms. Systematic tithing, such as mandated by the Mosaic law, does not apply under the New Covenant, which is established on grace and not the Law. I address this in more detail in the episodes on 'Progression of the Tithe'.We may tithe in the new covenant, but it will be as a free will instead of a law.

Fountain of life is the best teachings I ever heard reason I say this is because the Man of God break down the words that we can understand it, secondly he back up every word with the scripture of the bible.
